🇮🇱 ISRAEL EXPANDS LEBANON OPERATIONS AS SECURITY, INTERNAL, AND COMMUNITY ISSUES DOMINATE

🇮🇱 Expanded Operations in Lebanon: Additional IDF footage documented Golani Brigade forces capturing the Beaufort Castle and securing the Beaufort Ridge in southern Lebanon, including aerial views of the surrounding terrain and footage recorded during the ascent.

Israeli officials indicated that Washington has authorized broader Israeli military activity beyond southern Lebanon. Israel has also formally sought approval to expand operations into Beirut, with Prime Minister Netanyahu arguing that Hezbollah's continued activity from the Lebanese capital cannot remain outside Israel's response framework.

🏔️ Strategic Shift Along the Litani: Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that Israeli forces have crossed the Litani River, captured key high ground, and secured the Beaufort Ridge. He described the operation as part of a broader policy aimed at establishing and expanding security zones beyond Israel's borders.

Netanyahu further stated that Israel does not intend to withdraw from southern Lebanon while active threats remain in the area.

🛡️ Northern Front Remains Active: Launches from Lebanon prompted precautionary directives for several communities in northern Israel. Sirens were activated near Rosh HaNikra following the detection of a suspected aerial threat, though the incident concluded without casualties.

The Israeli Air Force intercepted two projectiles launched toward Israeli territory. Separately, a projectile landed adjacent to IDF forces operating in southern Lebanon, causing no injuries.

💥 Hamas Weapons Infrastructure Targeted in Gaza: During the past week, the IDF struck and dismantled three Hamas weapons storage compounds across Gaza.

According to the military, the facilities contained explosive devices, assault rifles, sniper rifles, military equipment, and vehicles intended for operational use. Secondary explosions observed during the strikes indicated the presence of substantial stored munitions.

🚘 Gush Etzion Ramming Attack: A Palestinian terrorist carried out a vehicle-ramming attack at the Gush Etzion Junction, seriously wounding a 17-year-old girl and moderately injuring a 15-year-old girl. An additional individual was treated for acute anxiety.

The attacker, identified as a 30-year-old Palestinian from the Hebron area, was eliminated at the scene by a Nahshon Battalion soldier from the Kfir Brigade.

🏥 Medical Response and Follow-Up Operations: The two wounded victims were evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center. One was taken to surgery in serious condition, while the second remained conscious and in moderate condition.

Following the attack, Israeli forces established roadblocks and launched security operations in Hebron. Concurrently, the Israeli Air Force conducted strikes in the village of Arab Salim northeast of Nablus.

⚖️ Government Expands Enforcement Against Draft Evaders: The Attorney General announced coordinated measures between the IDF and police aimed at increasing enforcement against individuals who evade military service, including proactive arrests.

Additional steps include a new government verification system for enlistment status, a shortened process for declaring draft evaders, restrictions on certain tax benefits for institutions attended by non-enlisting students, and the establishment of a team to address indirect funding channels.

🏛️ Political Backlash From Ultra-Orthodox Leadership: Shas chairman Rabbi Aryeh Deri strongly criticized the Attorney General's measures, warning that intensified enforcement could deepen tensions between the ultra-Orthodox community and state institutions.

Deri accused the government of remaining silent in the face of what he described as persecution of Torah students and called on coalition leaders to publicly oppose the new enforcement policies.
