⚖️ HIGH COURT INVALIDATES ARMY RADIO CLOSURE WHILE AFFIRMING GOVERNMENT AUTHORITY: The High Court of Justice struck down the government’s decision to close Galei Tzahal, or Army Radio, finding that the decision had been based on an improper consideration.
Judge Kasher wrote: “It cannot be accepted that a person vested with governmental authority may decide that, because they dislike a broadcaster’s remarks, the broadcaster’s ‘microphone should be shut off.’ A government that acts in this manner is acting in a patently undemocratic way.”
At the same time, the justices rejected the attorney general’s position that closing Army Radio could only be accomplished through legislation, ruling that the government does possess the authority to make such a decision.
Defense Minister Israel Katz rejected the Court’s reasoning and said the government had unanimously believed there was no place within the IDF for a civilian radio station carrying political content. He emphasized that the Court had nevertheless confirmed the government’s underlying authority and said that, if his political camp wins the elections and receives a renewed public mandate, “we will complete the process on this matter.”

🌎 IDF HUMANITARIAN TEAMS COMPLETE RESCUES AT COLOMBIA IMPACT SITES: IDF delegation teams working alongside local rescuers located and rescued all missing people at the impact sites where the Israeli teams were operating and continued assisting at additional locations.
The delegation is also carrying out structural assessments of damaged buildings to support local decision-making and the reopening of educational and healthcare facilities. Dozens of buildings have been surveyed, with most approved for use and some declared unsafe, while Israeli experts approved the return of more than 250 families to their homes.
The IDF also released body-camera footage from a delegation rescuer and additional footage documenting operations at the impact sites.
