🛡️ ISRAEL DEFENDS SECURITY ZONES AS LEBANON TALKS CONTINUE

🇮🇱 Netanyahu said Israel has established security zones beyond its borders: He stated: “There are no longer terrorist armies on our borders. We have created security zones around Gaza and inside Gaza, around Lebanon and inside Lebanon, and around the Golan and inside Syria.”

He added: “Like Israel's previous wars, the War of Revival revealed the extraordinary strength of our young generation. We, in the government, made thoughtful and courageous decisions to act step by step against those who sought our destruction.”

🌍 Trump reportedly pressed Netanyahu to redeploy from Syria and Lebanon: Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported that Trump warned during a Thursday call that the IDF presence was increasing tensions and could trigger escalation.

Trump reportedly told him: “Bibi, they don’t want you there.”

The call followed Trump’s meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa at the NATO summit in Ankara.

Netanyahu reportedly said Israel intends to maintain security zones in both countries. The Prime Minister’s Office called the account “distorted” and said the security strips are needed to prevent future invasion threats.

Israeli figures remain divided between continued security control and permanent presence or settlement.

🇱🇧 Lebanon is demanding a withdrawal timetable: The dispute partly concerns two proposed pilot areas. Israel says further redeployment depends on verified removal of hostile infrastructure, while Beirut is seeking a clear schedule.

Lebanese diplomatic sources told Al-Jadeed that the Rome framework offers a “real opportunity” for a gradual withdrawal after talks shifted from Washington. The move was portrayed as a possible Israeli “route of escape” from Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is strongly pressing implementation of the pilot zones.

The report described the shift as an effort to bypass U.S. executive pressure over timing.

The State Department called the Rome talks “fruitful,” though other reports said the wider dispute had stalled them.

🗣️ Lebanon called the Rome round a test of Israeli intentions: Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri described it as a “test of the Israeli side's seriousness.”

He urged Washington to move from sponsor to active mediator and to “redress the balance of power” through direct political and moral pressure.

Lebanon prioritized a phased Israeli withdrawal from what it called “occupied and unoccupied villages,” citing Froun as a possible confidence-building measure.

Mitri warned that the current U.S.-brokered framework contains “no reference to a timeline” for redeployment.

🚧 Five Israeli activists briefly crossed into Lebanon near Ghajar: One adult and four minors moved several meters across the border before IDF forces located and escorted them back.

The IDF said: “Immediately after the identification, security forces launched searches in the area, and a short while later located the civilians and returned them to Israeli territory.”

They were transferred to police for questioning.

The five girls belong to the Uri Tzafon Movement, a Religious Zionist organization advocating Jewish communities in areas of southern Lebanon it says belong to the Jewish people.

⚓ The IDF eliminated a Hamas naval commander in Gaza City: Osama Naim Hamdi Shamlakh, a cell commander in Hamas’ Naval Array, was killed in an airstrike.

The military said he had worked throughout the war, and more recently, to rebuild Hamas’ naval force and advance attacks “in the maritime domain.”

🎯 Three armed Hamas terrorists were eliminated in northern Gaza: The IDF said they were attempting to advance attacks against Israeli troops.

“The terrorists posed an imminent threat to the troops and were eliminated in precise aerial strikes.”
