๐ช Expanded Ground Operations in Southern Lebanon: The IDF has broadened its ground maneuver in southern Lebanon, focusing on the Beaufort Ridge and Wadi al-Saluki areas to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure and reduce threats to communities in the Galilee Panhandle and Metula. The operation, approved by Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir following extensive preparations by Northern Command, is intended to expand Israelโs forward defense posture along the border.
The military stated that Hezbollah infrastructure on the Beaufort Ridge was established under Iranian direction and served as a center for military activity and attacks against Israel. Forces are also targeting launch sites previously used to fire hundreds of projectiles toward Israeli civilians and troops.
๐ Operations Extend Beyond the Litani River: Israeli forces have expanded activity north of the Litani River, including operations near Nabatieh, a key Hezbollah stronghold. Prior to the ground advance, the Israeli Air Force conducted extensive strikes, supported by artillery and tank fire.
According to the IDF, forces secured strategic terrain, destroyed military infrastructure, and carried out engineering operations required to support the offensive. Additional strikes continue against Hezbollah targets in Tyre and other areas of southern Lebanon.
๐ฎ๐ฑ Beaufort Castle Designated as Part of Security Zone: Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that Israeli forces will remain at Beaufort Castle as part of Israelโs new security zone in southern Lebanon. He described the recapture of the strategic position as a significant military achievement and said the expanded maneuver is intended to demonstrate that continued threats against Israeli citizens carry strategic consequences.
๐ฅ Air Campaign Targets Hezbollah Infrastructure: Alongside ground operations, the Israeli Air Force struck Hezbollah command centers, weapons storage facilities, staffed headquarters, and additional infrastructure across southern Lebanon.
The IDF said the targeted facilities were being used to support attacks against Israeli forces and civilians and noted that the strikes coincided with intensified operations in the Beaufort Ridge sector.
๐๏ธ Government Reviewing Northern Security Situation: A special government meeting on northern security is scheduled for Tuesday as attacks from Lebanon continue despite the ceasefire framework.
Israeli officials noted that approximately 900 Hezbollah operatives have been eliminated since the ceasefire began, while dozens of Hezbollah infrastructure sites were struck during the latest round of operations.
๐จ Persistent Rocket and Drone Threats in the North: Northern Israel experienced repeated sirens throughout the day due to projectile launches and suspected aerial infiltrations from Lebanon. The Israeli Air Force intercepted multiple incoming threats, while several projectiles landed in open areas or fell within Lebanese territory.
Alerts were activated in communities including Kfar Giladi, Metula, Acre, Zar'it, and Rosh HaNikra. Most incidents ended without casualties, although several impacts near the border remained under review.
๐ก๏ธ Drone Strike Injures Civilians: Four people were wounded after an explosive drone struck the Beit Hillel area.
๐ฏ๏ธ IDF Soldier Killed in Hezbollah FPV Drone Attack: The IDF announced the death of Staff Sgt. Michael Tyukin, 21, of the Givati Brigade Reconnaissance Unit from Ashkelon. He was killed when a Hezbollah first-person-view drone struck an IDF position in southern Lebanon during nighttime operations.
Four additional soldiers sustained light injuries and were evacuated for medical treatment. The funeral is scheduled for 17:00 in Ashkelon following a public appeal by his mother for attendance.
