🎯 Senior Hezbollah commanders eliminated in southern Lebanon: The IDF confirmed the elimination of multiple senior Hezbollah field commanders during intelligence-based operations and strikes carried out over the past two weeks. Those killed included commanders and engineering officials tied to the Al-Khiam, Shaqif, Yohmor, Jibchit, and Jouaiyya sectors. According to the military, the operatives played central roles in directing Hezbollah combat activity and advancing attacks against IDF troops and Israeli territory.
🛡️ IDF ground operations expanded beyond the Forward Defense Line: Israeli forces recently conducted raids deeper into southern Lebanon in an effort to push Hezbollah farther from the border and reinforce protection of the northern security zone. The operations come amid increased Hezbollah FPV drone activity targeting both troops and northern Israeli communities. IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin stated that troops are now operating in areas previously inaccessible during earlier stages of the conflict.
📉 Israeli officials described continued degradation of Hezbollah’s operational structure: According to the IDF, approximately 2,500 Hezbollah operatives have been eliminated since the start of Operation Roaring Lion, including around 800 since the April 16 ceasefire understandings. The military further stated that roughly 8,000 Hezbollah operatives have been killed by Israel throughout the broader multi-front conflict in recent years. Defrin said Hezbollah currently maintains an estimated force of around 30,000 operatives and described recent strikes on sector commanders and operational officials as significant blows to the organization’s command-and-control network.
🛰️ Israeli military efforts remain focused on Hezbollah infrastructure and drone threats: Defrin stated that Hezbollah is operating under severe pressure while the IDF continues systematic dismantling operations against the organization’s infrastructure in southern Lebanon. The military also highlighted ongoing work to improve drone detection, interception capabilities, and force protection measures for ground troops. According to Defrin, both military and civilian experts are engaged in efforts to address the expanding FPV drone threat.
⚠️ Israeli officials signaled continued preparedness for broader regional confrontation: Defrin stated that the military remains prepared to resume intense combat against Iran if required and emphasized that operations will continue wherever necessary to protect Israeli civilians and troops. Separately, an Israeli military official told the Israeli Broadcasting Authority that Jerusalem is concerned a future agreement between Washington and Tehran could limit or freeze Israeli operations against Hezbollah.
🚔 Counterterrorism operations continued across Judea and Samaria: Over the past two days, IDF forces operating with Shin Bet intelligence carried out three targeted operations resulting in the arrest of five terror suspects. Arrests included a suspect accused of planning an imminent attack near Jenin, a Hamas-affiliated operative detained in Zeita, and additional suspects arrested in Qalandiya and Al-Bireh, including an armed operative accused of incitement and another suspect linked to assembling explosives.
