🕑 Published: August 19, 2026 · 10:32 PM Israel time

⚠️ IRAN WEIGHS STRIKES ON U.S. ASSETS: Iran is considering attacks on U.S. military assets in Europe if Washington escalates the war, according to the Financial Times. Potential targets include U.S. bases in Bulgaria and Cyprus and subsea cables in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials increasingly view renewed conflict as inevitable and warn that attacks on critical Iranian infrastructure could broaden the war beyond the Middle East.

❗️ UAE HALTS TRADE AND FINANCIAL DEALINGS WITH IRAN: The UAE says it has suspended all trade, commercial exchanges and financial transactions with Iran until further notice. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposition leader Yair Lapid are also scheduled to hold a security briefing this evening.

🎯 IDF TARGETS HAMAS COMMANDERS IN GAZA: The IDF says it eliminated a Hamas military-wing commander in Nuseirat who infiltrated Israel and participated in the October 7 massacre. Palestinian media reported one person killed. Less than half an hour later, the IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) struck terrorists gathered at a civilian police station in Gaza City’s Tuffah area, including a Hamas commander accused of planning attacks against Israeli troops. Palestinian media later reported nine killed and 15 wounded. The IDF said at least four Hamas military-wing terrorists and one Popular Resistance Committees terrorist were present and accused them of using the police station for military purposes.

💥 FOUR NUKHBA COMMANDERS CONFIRMED ELIMINATED IN AL-SHATI: The IDF confirmed that four commanders from Hamas’s elite Nukhba Force, all from the Beit Lahia Battalion, were eliminated in an airstrike a day earlier near Gaza City’s port. Palestinian media reported six killed and 14 wounded. The four included a Nukhba company commander and three platoon commanders, one of whom infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre, while the others were involved in advancing attacks against IDF troops.

🛟 IDF DETAILS HUMANITARIAN FLOW INTO GAZA: According to the IDF, more than 2 million tons of food have entered Gaza since the October 2025 ceasefire, with roughly 600 trucks entering daily and 70–80% carrying food. Food prices have fallen by about 72%, while 41 internationally operated bakeries produce more than 3 million pita breads per day.

🚰 Gaza is also receiving more than 70,000 cubic meters of water daily, supported by approximately 250 water trucks, 2,800 distribution points, four pipelines, desalination facilities and dozens of wells. More than 78,000 tons of hygiene and sanitation supplies and 21,000 tons of medical equipment have entered, while hospital-bed capacity has increased by more than 50%. The IDF says aid volumes exceed humanitarian requirements assessed by UN agencies and international organizations, while accusing Hamas of interfering with aid operations and attempting to exploit distribution systems and smuggle prohibited items under cover of assistance.
