⚠️ ISRAEL EXPANDS LEBANON OPERATIONS AS HEZBOLLAH REJECTS CEASEFIRE FRAMEWORK

🛡️ ISRAELI DETERRENCE POLICY TOWARD BEIRUT: Israel continued signaling an expanded deterrence posture toward Hezbollah following renewed attacks from Lebanon. Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that Israel now views Hezbollah strongholds in Beirut’s Dahieh district as directly tied to attacks on northern Israeli communities, warning that continued fire on Israeli civilians could lead to strikes in Beirut. Prime Minister Netanyahu similarly stated that Israel conveyed to President Trump that ongoing Hezbollah attacks on Israeli cities would trigger Israeli strikes on terrorist targets in Beirut.

🚀 CROSS-BORDER FIRE AND INTERCEPTIONS: Rocket and aerial infiltration alerts continued across northern Israel during the day. Sirens were activated in Manara and Kiryat Shmona following an aerial infiltration from Lebanon, with the IDF reporting the target was intercepted while additional alerts were triggered over concerns of falling interceptor debris. Later, sirens sounded again in Misgav Am after two projectiles crossed into Israeli territory. The Israeli Air Force intercepted both projectiles.

🌍 HEZBOLLAH AND IRAN REJECT ISRAELI CONDITIONS: Hezbollah publicly rejected the emerging deterrence framework and reiterated that it would only accept a full ceasefire accompanied by an Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory. Hezbollah-affiliated newspaper Al-Akhbar reported that Iran viewed recent Israeli warnings regarding Dahieh as a possible precursor to broader regional escalation and an Israeli-American effort to reshape regional conditions ahead of any agreement with Washington.

🛰️ IRANIAN SIGNALS AND REGIONAL MESSAGES: According to Al-Akhbar, Iran signaled it could halt negotiations with the United States and reportedly mobilized missile units inside Iranian territory, movements allegedly detected by both Israel and the United States. The report further claimed Iran warned mediators it was considering a preemptive strike, believing the escalation in Lebanon could serve as preparation for a future attack on Iran itself. Hezbollah reportedly increased rocket fire toward northern Israel and raised readiness levels for a possible expanded ground conflict.

🤝 LEBANESE MEDIATION EFFORTS: Lebanese President Joseph Aoun reportedly proposed a framework under which Hezbollah would halt attacks in exchange for Israel refraining from major operations, including strikes in Dahieh. Hezbollah reportedly rejected the proposal. Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri later conveyed messages indicating Hezbollah would accept a ceasefire if Israel committed to one as well. Al-Akhbar additionally reported that Iran transmitted warnings through regional mediators, including signals suggesting possible direct intervention, contributing to American pressure against Israeli strikes in Dahieh. The report described the situation as a “temporary freeze,” while stating Hezbollah does not intend to halt attacks absent an acceptable ceasefire and withdrawal arrangement.

🎯 IDF EXPANDS GROUND OPERATIONS IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: The IDF continued broadening operations throughout southern Lebanon. Forces from the Givati Brigade combat team launched operations in Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Zawtar al-Gharbiyah as part of efforts to establish IDF positions and remove threats to Israeli communities in the Galilee Panhandle and Metula.

⚔️ OPERATIONS NORTH OF THE LITANI: IDF troops crossed the Litani River and continued operations against Hezbollah infrastructure in the area. Forces located and destroyed weapons, eliminated terrorists, and operated alongside Israeli Air Force support. According to the IDF, more than 100 strikes were conducted and approximately 20 terrorists were eliminated. Hundreds of weapons were also discovered inside civilian homes.
