❌ HAMAS INTERNAL SECURITY CHIEF CAPTURED IN GAZA CITY: Shin Bet special forces, supported by the IDF and Israeli Air Force, captured Muein al-Arabid, identified as the head of Hamas' Internal Security apparatus in Gaza. The Air Force struck nearby military targets to remove threats to the force, and no Israeli personnel were injured. Al-Arabid was transferred to Israel for questioning.
🔎 ISRAEL SAYS AL-ARABID WAS WORKING TO RESTORE HAMAS CONTROL: The IDF and Shin Bet said he had been working to consolidate Hamas control in northern Gaza and advance attacks against IDF troops near the Yellow Line. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described him as one of Hamas' most senior figures, saying he had been involved in hiding and moving hostages and senior Hamas officials, rebuilding the organization and restoring Hamas governance. Arabic-language reports had attributed the raid to an Israeli-backed anti-Hamas militia, but the IDF and Shin Bet said Shin Bet special forces carried it out. Al Jazeera later published footage of the raid.
🎯 HAMAS COMMANDER STRUCK IN JABALIA: The IDF said it struck a Hamas military-wing commander who posed an immediate threat and had recently advanced attacks against Israeli troops and civilians while working to restore Hamas capabilities, which the military described as a systematic violation of the ceasefire.
🇱🇧 HEZBOLLAH WEAPONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE DISMANTLED IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: The IDF's 769th, 4th and 55th Brigades, under the 91st Division, continue clearing terrorist infrastructure in the Security Zone. Troops located guided anti-tank missiles, RPG rockets, launchers, grenades, explosive devices, Kalashnikov rifles and military equipment. The IDF said Hezbollah infrastructure embedded within civilian areas was also dismantled.
🏔️ PLANNED IDF EXERCISE IN THE GOLAN HEIGHTS: A preplanned military exercise will take place Wednesday morning as part of the IDF's 2026 training program. Increased security-force movement is expected, and gunfire and explosions may be heard in the area.
⚓ INS DRAKON BEGINS VOYAGE TO ISRAEL: Israel's sixth submarine has departed the TKMS shipyard in Kiel following years of Israeli-German development and construction. Drakon is the third and final Dolphin-class AIP submarine acquired for the Israeli Navy and incorporates technologies intended to expand operational range, endurance, flexibility and capabilities. Its voyage is being accompanied by a major Israeli-German security operation, with a state ceremony planned at Haifa Naval Base upon arrival.
🔱 DRAKON TO FORM PART OF FUTURE SUBMARINE FLOTILLA: Navy Commander VADM Eyal Harel said Drakon, together with three future Dakar-class submarines, will provide greater range, longer mission endurance and significant operational power. Defense Ministry procurement chief Zeev Landau called it "the most advanced and complex weapons system in the IDF," while Israeli and German officials emphasized that submarine cooperation will continue through the Dakar-class program.
