🛩️ IDF DETAILS RAPIDLY DEVELOPED “ATALEF” COMBAT DRONE FAMILY: The IDF disclosed additional details regarding the “Atalef” (“Bat”) combat drone family developed by the “Yeftach” unit of the Land Technology Division during the war. Inspired in part by FPV drone warfare observed in Ukraine, the system was designed to provide frontline forces with portable, highly maneuverable attack drones capable of conducting real-time targeting operations.
According to the military, the first operational version was developed and deployed within approximately three months before carrying out its first successful elimination operation in Gaza. The drones are equipped with modular systems and advanced warheads that allow rapid adaptation for varying battlefield missions.
🎯 SYSTEM DESIGNED FOR FRONTLINE FLEXIBILITY: The IDF stated the drones are capable of tracking moving targets traveling at speeds of up to 130 km/h. One operational example cited by the military involved a recent strike by the 226th Brigade against a Hezbollah operative riding a motorcycle in Lebanon.
Military officials also emphasized the system’s relatively low production cost, simplified training requirements, and rapid manufacturing capability compared to larger and more complex aerial systems.
🧩 WOUNDED SOLDIERS INTEGRATED INTO DEVELOPMENT PROCESS: To accelerate operational adaptation, wounded soldiers who returned to service were incorporated into development and training teams. According to the IDF, these personnel contributed battlefield feedback, assisted with upgrades and operational modifications, and helped train frontline combat units.
The military stated the original “Atalef” platform has since expanded into a broader family of drones tailored for multiple operational missions.
⚖️ ISRAEL ALLOCATES OVER NIS 1 BILLION FOR NUKHBA PROSECUTIONS: Israel approved a joint Defense and Finance Ministry plan to prosecute the Nukhba terrorists responsible for the October 7 massacre. More than NIS 1 billion was allocated between 2026-2029 to establish the judicial and operational infrastructure required for the proceedings.
The funding will support court facilities, prosecution systems, IDF command frameworks, recruitment, salaries, communications infrastructure, transportation, medical services, feeding systems, maintenance, and additional logistical requirements connected to the prosecutions.
🏛️ GOVERNMENT PRESENTS PLAN AS LONG-TERM ACCOUNTABILITY FRAMEWORK: Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that Israel remains committed to ensuring all terrorists involved in the murders, rapes, kidnappings, and attacks against Israeli civilians bear full responsibility for their actions.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich stated the approved budget sends a message regarding the consequences facing those who attack the State of Israel.
