✈️ The Israeli Air Force officially inducted its first Boeing KC-46 “Gideon” refueling and transport aircraft during a ceremony at Nevatim Airbase.
The ceremony was led by IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Omer Tishler.
The aircraft joins a newly established refueling squadron and is the first of six KC-46 aircraft purchased by Israel through the Ministry of Defense procurement mission in the United States.
The platform is part of a broader long-term IDF force buildup plan.
The KC-46 significantly expands the Air Force’s operational reach and endurance by enabling mid-air refueling for fighter aircraft, while also providing advanced transport and multi-mission capabilities.
The IDF described the aircraft as a major enhancement for multi-arena warfare and operations against distant targets.
⚠️ Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir stated that Iran’s regime has suffered major strategic damage, saying much of its military capability has been destroyed, its nuclear program pushed back years, and its leadership placed under pressure.
Zamir described the “Gideon” aircraft as the “first fruit” of the Air Force’s future force-building efforts and upcoming modernization plans.
⚔️ Air Force Commander Omer Tishler said refueling aircraft operating from Nevatim played a key role in enabling recent long-range Israeli air operations against Iran.
He added that the Air Force continues operating simultaneously across multiple fronts, including strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon, operations in Gaza, and defensive missions protecting northern Israel.
Tishler said the new “Gideon” aircraft represents a significant expansion of Israeli air power and strategic operational capability.
