🛡️ Judea and Samaria: Weapons seized and attacker’s home demolished: Security forces arrested four suspects involved in terrorist activity and seized weapons during an intelligence-led overnight operation in Qalqilya, the IDF said. Two shafts approximately 12 meters deep were examined, with the military ruling out a tunnel route within them. An M16 rifle, hunting rifle, handgun and ammunition were found near the shafts; magazines were also located during the operation.
The IDF also rejected claims that the shaft was close to the seam zone, contradicting statements it characterized as official and irresponsible. The suspects are being questioned, and extensive searches continue for additional shafts and weapons.
In Beit Imrin, IDF forces operating under the Samaria Brigade demolished the home of the terrorist responsible for the March 21, 2026 attack that murdered Yehuda Sherman and wounded another Israeli civilian. The demolition took place overnight Wednesday.
⚖️ Elections: Democrats disqualification bid rejected: The request to disqualify the Democrats was rejected by 14 votes to two after Otzma Yehudit refused to withdraw it. Coalition representatives boycotted the vote after Ben-Gvir rejected their withdrawal request. Rothman opposed the bid, called the proceedings pointless and said his party would not participate. Otzma Yehudit defended its position by blaming an appeasing approach toward the left for the failure of judicial reform.
According to Amit Segal, the Attorney General’s representative opposed disqualifying Otzma Yehudit but warned that accumulating evidence was bringing it closer to prohibited territory. The disqualification hearings have concluded, with Supreme Court rulings next.
🤝 Netanyahu’s U.S. visit: The Prime Minister’s Office announced planned meetings with the presidents of Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, Panama and Ethiopia; Colombia’s vice president; and the prime ministers of Greece, Slovenia and Papua New Guinea. It said other requests could not be accommodated because of the tight schedule and the need to return before Sukkot. A separate report said Netanyahu would not meet President Trump during the visit.
🏥 Neria Leiter remains in life-threatening condition: Shaare Zedek said Neria Leiter underwent complex brain surgery lasting several hours and remains in very serious condition, with his life in danger. Ambassador Leiter said doctors had stabilized his son’s condition but that the danger remained. Netanyahu visited him before departing.
🥾 Sukkot restrictions and military training: The IDF said hikers will not be permitted to enter northern military training areas during Sukkot in the Golan Heights, Carmel, Ramot Menashe and Netofa areas. The same notice also said entry may be possible with prior coordination and that all entry into military areas requires advance coordination and approval.
The military warned that firing-zone training takes place continuously and unauthorized entry endangers hikers. Anyone finding unexploded ordnance, ammunition or a suspicious object should move away and immediately notify Northern Command. Reports, hiking coordination and inquiries: 073-348-3007.
The IDF also reported a completed morning exercise at Zikim Beach in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council, involving security forces, vehicles and vessels, with gunfire and explosions. It said the drill was planned under the 2026 training program and there was no concern of a security incident.
