🛡️ ISRAEL MAINTAINS LEBANON SECURITY POSTURE AS NORTHERN RESTRICTIONS LIFTED

🛡️ IDF Maintains Readiness Despite Ceasefire in Lebanon: IDF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir conducted a situational assessment in southern Lebanon and reiterated that Israel's objective remains the protection of northern communities and the prevention of renewed terrorist entrenchment along its borders. He described the Ali al-Taher and Beaufort sectors as major Hezbollah military strongholds developed over two decades and stated that lessons from October 7 have reinforced Israel's determination to prevent hostile organizations from establishing positions adjacent to Israeli territory.

Zamir assessed that Hezbollah has suffered a significant setback and said recent operations neutralized a substantial layer of mid-level commanders within the organization's Badr Units and other formations. While noting that the ceasefire remains in effect, he emphasized the need for continued readiness, rapid operational flexibility, and ongoing threat removal efforts. He also honored LTC Dor Gedalia Ben Simhon and his team, and praised the resilience of the 401st Brigade despite sustained wartime losses.

🏘️ Northern Restrictions Lifted as Security Situation Stabilizes; The Home Front Command announced that all remaining restrictions in the Confrontation Line area will be removed beginning Monday morning. Communities previously operating under partial limitations will return to full activity, and gathering restrictions in northern border communities will be lifted. Authorities instructed residents to continue monitoring official security updates.

🎯 Hezbollah Underground Infrastructure Targeted in Southern Lebanon: The IDF disclosed details of operations conducted by the 551st Brigade under the 91st Division approximately 10 kilometers inside Lebanon near Majdal Zoun. According to the military, the village had been heavily fortified with Hezbollah infrastructure, including an extensive underground network.

More than 20 Hezbollah operatives, including over 10 Radwan Force members, were eliminated during the operation. Forces dismantled more than 50 terrorist infrastructure sites, including observation positions and weapons storage facilities. Combat engineers from the Yahalom Unit uncovered a tunnel exceeding 200 meters in length and more than 25 meters deep containing launch shafts aimed at Israel, multiple operational rooms, living quarters, explosives, anti-tank missiles, UAVs, and large quantities of weaponry.

🛰️ Debate Continues Over Future Israeli Deployment in Lebanon: Channel 12 reported that Israel is examining limited troop redeployments in southern Lebanon, including possible reductions around the Beaufort sector, as offensive missions near completion. A gradual drawdown of forces has reportedly been discussed.

Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that Israel intends to remain in security zones in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza, adding that a future agreement with Lebanon would require the removal of the Hezbollah threat. Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem rejected any arrangement that permits Israeli operational freedom in Lebanon, while Iranian-linked media warned that continued Israeli presence could complicate ongoing negotiations.
