🇺🇸 Netanyahu Marks U.S. Independence Day: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated the United States on its 250th Independence Day, describing the U.S.-Israel relationship as an alliance rooted in shared values as well as shared interests.
He noted that the anniversary coincides with 50 years since Operation Jonathan at Entebbe, recalling the rescue of more than 100 hostages and the death of his brother, Yoni Netanyahu, who commanded the mission. Netanyahu said Israel and the United States have continued defending freedom together over the past five decades.
Netanyahu praised the United States as "the greatest force for liberty the modern world has known" and said both countries face adversaries who reject freedom and democracy. He concluded that when America and Israel stand together, freedom is strengthened, expressing confidence that "freedom will triumph over tyranny."
🎯 Hamas Commander Eliminated: The IDF and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) announced the elimination of Muhammad Na'im Jandiya, Hamas' Head of Military Security in the Shuja'iyya Battalion, in a strike carried out two days earlier in northern Gaza.
According to the IDF, Jandiya commanded a Nukhba terrorist cell that infiltrated Kibbutz Nahal Oz during the October 7 massacre and participated in the abduction of the late Capt. Daniel Perez. During the war, he was responsible for holding Yotam Chaim, Samer Al-Talalka, and Alon Shamriz captive in an underground tunnel in Shuja'iyya, recently advanced attacks against IDF forces in Gaza, and took part in Hamas hostage release ceremonies during previous exchange agreements.
🛡️ Security Zone Activity in Southern Lebanon: IDF troops identified and eliminated an armed terrorist operating near Israeli forces inside the Security Zone in the Majdal Zoun area, which the military described as a violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Separately, after Hezbollah attacks against Israeli troops on Thursday, the IDF conducted precision strikes on approximately ten Hezbollah infrastructure sites in Bint Jbeil, Beit Yahoun, Kounine, and Braachit that were assessed to support attacks against Israeli forces. Overnight, the military also struck a Hezbollah weapons transport truck near the Security Zone after identifying operatives moving weapons. Secondary explosions indicated the vehicle was carrying munitions.
⚔️ Weekly Operational Summary: The IDF reported dismantling more than one kilometer of terror tunnels in Gaza during the past week and carrying out operations across multiple fronts.
In southern Lebanon, forces continued operating inside the Security Zone, dismantled an underground tunnel in Majdal Zoun, and the Israeli Air Force struck three Hezbollah command centers following repeated ceasefire violations.
In Gaza, operations remained focused on locating and destroying additional tunnel networks, particularly around Khan Yunis. Approximately 20 terrorists were eliminated, including operatives involved in rebuilding Hamas' military infrastructure and terrorists who infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre.
In Judea and Samaria, security forces conducted dozens of operations, arresting more than 60 terror suspects. Authorities also seized approximately 162,000 NIS in terror funds, five UAVs, explosive-manufacturing materials, incitement material, ammunition, and weapons including M-16 rifles and pistols.
