⚔️ GAZA STRIKES CONTINUE AS U.S.-IRAN TALKS FOCUS ON LEBANON AND REGIONAL SECURITY

⚔️ Targeted Eliminations Continue in Gaza: The IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) announced the elimination of several senior terrorist operatives involved in both October 7 activities and ongoing efforts to rebuild terrorist capabilities in Gaza.

Among those targeted was Palestinian Islamic Jihad Khan Yunis Brigade Nukhba commander Zaki Youssef Mahmoud Abu Mustafa, whom Israel said participated in the October 7 attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz and the abduction of Yagil Yaakov. The military stated that he later played a central role in rebuilding terrorist infrastructure, planning attacks on Israeli forces, and exploiting Nasser Hospital for terrorist activity.

Separate strikes eliminated Hamas Nukhba operative Mohammed Osama Abd al-Aziz Saba al-Eish, Hamas engineering officer Ahmad Munir Khalil Zaza of the West Jabalia Battalion, and Hamas Gaza City sniper commander Hussein Safadi. According to the military, all were involved in training operatives, weapons production, attack planning, or ceasefire violations directed against Israeli forces.

🌍 U.S.-Iran Talks Center on Lebanon and Regional Security Issues: Negotiations between U.S. and Iranian representatives continued in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, with mediation by Pakistan and Qatar. Iranian media reported that the initial session lasted approximately 80 minutes and focused primarily on ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, rather than nuclear issues.

According to Axios, discussions have also addressed Lebanon ceasefire implementation, freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, nuclear matters, and mechanisms related to the memorandum of understanding. U.S. officials reportedly described the talks as constructive, with senior-level meetings expected to conclude Monday while technical discussions continue.

⚠️ Tensions Surface Around Negotiations and Public Statements: Differences emerged following President Trump's public comments regarding Iran. Iranian media reported that Tehran rejected a planned handshake and joint photograph with American representatives and briefly suspended participation in protest, while other diplomatic sources indicated talks continued.

Iran formally protested Trump's remarks, arguing they violated provisions requiring both sides to avoid threats and hostile actions. Reports indicated that Tehran is considering its response and is seeking additional assurances regarding Lebanon and future negotiations.

Trump responded with a series of statements warning of severe consequences if negotiations fail, including threats of further action against Iran and its regional proxies. U.S. officials reportedly warned that future Hezbollah attacks could be attributed directly to Tehran. Concurrently, increased U.S. Air Force activity, including multiple aerial refueling aircraft, was observed across the region.
