Yashar! also denied the allegation, saying participation in a government it forms would require recognition of the Declaration of Independence’s values, recognition of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, and “Service for all.” It would also exclude parties that do not recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization that Israel has a duty to destroy. These conditions do not explicitly identify Ra’am as an accepted or excluded partner.
The reporting also includes a statement about contacts with Ra’am and a pledge to invite it into the coalition if tasked with forming the government, but does not clearly identify the speaker. The competing accounts leave disputed both whether support for Eisenkot was announced and whether he promised Ra’am a place in a future government.
🛡️ Hamas disarmament and military readiness: Defense Minister Katz said the U.S. and participating countries had committed to disarming Hamas and destroying all its tunnels, but asserted that this would not happen. He said the IDF was prepared, if ordered, to eliminate Hamas and finish the job.
🚁 Shayetet 13 footage near Hebron: Footage published by Palestinian media shows Israeli Navy Shayetet 13 commandos rappelling from a helicopter overnight in Yatta, near Hebron, in southern Judea and Samaria. The IDF has not yet commented on the footage or operation.
🇮🇱 IDF chief defends troops and commanders: Speaking at an appreciation event for donors to the Association for the Wellbeing of Israel’s Soldiers, the IDF Chief of the General Staff linked mutual responsibility to defending troops and commanders against what he described as slander using baseless lies and manipulation. He called that defense a national and international mission to uphold on every platform and against every claim, declaring: “The IDF is the most moral military in the world.”
The chief said that, despite deliberate attacks on Israeli civilians, an assault targeting a civilian population and missiles launched at Israeli cities, the military adheres to IDF values and international law and does everything in its power to avoid harming innocent civilians.
⚓ Mines reported near Bab al-Mandab: Yemeni military sources said the Houthis had laid marine mines in waters near the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait, according to the German Press Agency (DPA).
