🤝 U.S. AND IRAN PAUSE STRIKES AS DIPLOMACY CONTINUES: The United States did not strike Iran for a second consecutive night. The New York Times reported that President Donald Trump had temporarily placed plans for a significant escalation on hold after Joint Chiefs Chairman General Dan Caine warned of a possible interceptor shortage.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz said Trump was allowing an opportunity for diplomacy. A senior Iranian official said Iran would maintain its ceasefire as long as the United States did the same.
The Iranian Army announced that retaliatory strikes had been suspended following approximately 13 consecutive nights of American airstrikes.
Omani representatives held what Iran described as productive and constructive talks in Tehran. Oman has proposed a regional consortium to coordinate maritime security, search-and-rescue operations and other cooperation in the Strait of Hormuz.
🚢 U.S. BLOCKADE REMAINS IN EFFECT: As of July 25, U.S. Central Command had redirected 12 commercial vessels attempting to breach the naval blockade against Iran, disabled two noncompliant vessels and boarded two others for verification.
U.S. forces boarded the Comoros-flagged M/T Charminar in the Arabian Sea before allowing it to continue. The Mozambique-flagged M/T Lavine was disabled in the Gulf of Oman after repeated attempts to violate the blockade and is no longer sailing toward Iran.
Iran’s Tasnim News Agency separately reported that an oil tanker struck a naval mine after deviating from an Iranian-designated route in the Strait of Hormuz.
Saudi media reported that Iran rejected a proposed new Hormuz corridor and is demanding negotiations first on the strait, followed by frozen funds and then the nuclear issue.
⚔️ IRAN ISSUES REGIONAL THREATS: The IRGC warned that Israel would face severe consequences if it resumed the war and Iran concentrated its attention against it.
Iranian First Deputy Parliament Speaker Ali Nikzad also warned Ukraine that strikes against Iran would not go unanswered. He said launch sites used for attacks would be considered legitimate targets after Kyiv confirmed long-range drone strikes on vessels in the Caspian Sea that killed one sailor and wounded another.
