🕑 Published: September 5, 2026 · 11:23 PM Israel time

💥 HEZBOLLAH DRONE ATTACK FOLLOWED BY IDF STRIKES IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: Hezbollah launched a drone toward IDF soldiers operating in the Security Zone in southern Lebanon on Friday. Troops opened fire and downed it, with no Israeli injuries reported.

The IDF described the attempted attack as a blatant Hezbollah violation and responded overnight with strikes against Hezbollah terrorists and infrastructure, including weapons storage facilities intended to support attacks against IDF forces in the Security Zone and Israeli civilians. The military said the strikes removed an immediate threat and were carried out in response to the drone attack.

🛡️ FALSE TARGET TRIGGERS INTERCEPTOR OVER SOUTHERN GAZA: An interceptor was launched after what was initially identified as a threat was later determined to be a false target caused by IDF fire during operations in the southern Gaza Strip.

No injuries were reported, and no sirens sounded in nearby communities in accordance with protocol. The incident remains under review.

⚓ U.S. STRIKES THREE IRANIAN OIL CARRIERS AFTER IRGC MISSILE ATTACKS: CENTCOM said U.S. forces struck three Iranian crude oil carriers on September 5 after the IRGC launched ballistic missiles toward two U.S. Navy warships. A U.S. aircraft carrier and guided-missile destroyer evaded multiple attacks, and no American personnel were harmed.

U.S. forces subsequently permanently disabled the IRGC-linked M/T Downy off Kharg Island and M/T Stark 1 near Jask, while the unladen M/T Kylo, also known as the “Noxen,” was destroyed in the Gulf of Oman after its crew was instructed to abandon ship. CENTCOM described the vessels as part of a multibillion-dollar shadow network funding the IRGC and its regional proxies.

CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper said the response was intended to impose a higher economic cost for attacks on U.S. forces, warning that the United States would defend its ships and, if necessary, destroy Iran’s “limited and exposed oil fleet.” U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth similarly warned: “If Iran fires on our ships, we will destroy and sink their oil tankers.”

Separately, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that an Iranian tanker approximately six miles off Kharg Island was struck by four U.S. missiles Saturday morning. No casualties were reported, the crew was evacuating, and the extent of the damage was still being assessed.

⚠️ NETANYAHU DESCRIBES ALLEGED IRANIAN ATTEMPT AGAINST YAIR: Prime Minister Netanyahu said there had been a “significant” attempt against his son Yair and that Israeli security services acted rapidly, including bringing in additional personnel from forces in the United States to evacuate him.

Netanyahu blamed what he called “irresponsible” and “reckless” conduct by journalists and others who disclosed Yair Netanyahu’s location in real time, including the address and specific details of the apartment where he was staying.
