🛡️ JUDEA AND SAMARIA SECURITY RESPONSE: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered expanded counterterrorism measures following the shooting attack near Tel, including intensified operations in villages identified as terrorist centers, weapons seizures, arrests, work-permit revocations and additional restrictions.
The IDF was instructed to reinforce forces across Judea and Samaria, separate traffic routes, establish additional checkpoints, accelerate the legalization of existing outposts and advance new ones. Netanyahu said operations could be broadened further against terrorist strongholds if required.
Netanyahu and Katz expressed condolences to the family of Master Sgt. (res.) Benayahu Melt and wished the injured a full recovery. They urged the public not to interfere with security activity or divert forces from protecting Israeli civilians.
🛰️ SHIN BET INTENSIFIES INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS: Israel Security Agency Director David Zini conducted a situational assessment at the attack scene with Shin Bet and IDF commanders. Instructions were issued to expand intelligence collection, counterterrorism activity and offensive operations against terrorist infrastructure in surrounding villages.
Zini acknowledged that security forces had failed to prevent this attack despite foiling dozens of attempted attacks in recent months. He said the Shin Bet and IDF would pursue everyone involved or planning further attacks and called on the public not to take the law into its own hands.
🏠 ATTACKERS’ HOMES TARGETED FOR DEMOLITION: IDF and Shin Bet forces operated in Tel, where the terrorists involved in Friday’s attack had lived. The shooting killed Maj. Yuval Ezra, 27, and Master Sgt. (res.) Benayahu Melt, 32.
The shooter was eliminated immediately after the attack. His home was mapped and later sealed after Central Command Commander Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth signed the relevant order, with the demolition process continuing.
The home of the terrorist who seized the weapon was also mapped. He was wounded during the attack and later arrested by Duvdevan soldiers at a hospital in Shechem. Netanyahu said two accomplices hiding at the hospital were apprehended.
Temporary sealing can precede or replace demolition. The process is subject to security recommendations, required approvals and possible High Court appeals.
🎯 HAMAS COMMANDERS AND OPERATIVES ELIMINATED: The IDF reported several targeted eliminations of Hamas operatives involved in weapons production, intelligence activity and planning attacks against Israeli civilians and troops.
Fares Al-Masri, a department head in Hamas’ Weapons Production Headquarters, was eliminated in northern Gaza after participating in efforts to rebuild Hamas’ military capabilities in violation of the ceasefire. Muhammad Abu Shakyan, a Hamas Nukhba terrorist involved in advancing attacks, was eliminated in a separate strike.
Muhannad Asaad Mahmoud Abu Ghazal, a Nukhba cell commander who infiltrated the Kissufim area during the October 7 massacre, was eliminated in central Gaza.
The IDF also eliminated Raed Hani Mohammed Al-Amsi, an Aerial Surveillance Platoon commander, and Nabhan Mohammed Nabhan Al-Amsi, head of the Military Intelligence Desk in Hamas’ Gaza Brigade.
