🎯 Expanded IDF Activity in Southern Lebanon: The IDF stated that more than 35 Hezbollah operatives were eliminated over the past week near Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon. Operations included strikes on anti-tank missile launchers, raids on weapons storage facilities, and attacks on Hezbollah infrastructure across multiple sectors.
Israeli forces reported locating Kalashnikov rifles, RPGs, and rockets during raids in southern Lebanon. In one strike, secondary explosions were observed after a Hezbollah weapons cache was hit, indicating the presence of stored munitions.
According to N12, Israeli Air Force operations over the past 24 hours targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in the Tyre, Sidon, Saluki, and Zahrani River areas. Evacuation warnings were issued for Ghassaniyeh, Houmine al-Fawqa, and Ansariyeh prior to several strikes.
🛰️ Widespread Strike Activity Across Southern Lebanon: Local reports and Al Mayadeen correspondents described intensive Israeli strikes across the Tyre, Nabatieh, and Bint Jbeil districts, including attacks in Tyre’s residential areas, Tayr Debba, Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, Kafra, Braachit, and Doueir.
Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district was reportedly struck for the tenth time during the day. Additional reports indicated casualties following an airstrike near residential neighborhoods in Tyre.
A later Israeli drone strike reportedly targeted a vehicle in Sidon, setting nearby vehicles on fire. Preliminary reports indicated at least one fatality. The IDF also resumed shelling operations in the Nabatieh area.
Iran has previously stated that fighting in southern Lebanon constitutes a red line that would trigger a renewed response.
✈️ Additional Haredi Air Force Technicians Unit Established: The IDF announced the establishment of another Israeli Air Force technicians unit designed for ultra-Orthodox servicemen while allowing participants to maintain their religious lifestyle during military service.
The new unit is based at Tel Nof Airbase within the 106th Squadron, which operates F-15 fighter jets. Twenty soldiers, including 15 Haredi servicemen, recently completed training and qualified as “level A” F-15 technicians.
The military noted that the first two Haredi Air Force technician units were established over the past two years at Ramat David Airbase.
⚠️ IDF Addresses Debate Over Armored Corps Pilot Program: The IDF responded to criticism regarding a planned pilot program examining the integration of female soldiers into additional Armored Corps roles.
Military officials stated that ongoing multi-front warfare and growing operational demands have increased reliance on both male and female combat personnel. The IDF also clarified that the High Court of Justice did not order female recruitment into the Armored Corps, but rather instructed the military to conduct the previously planned pilot initiative.
According to the IDF, the pilot will operate under the Joint Service Ordinance while maintaining operational and professional standards. The military added that there is currently no scenario under consideration involving mixed-gender service within the same operational framework.
The pilot program has not yet been presented to Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and is expected to be discussed in the near future.
The statement followed threats by leaders of more than two dozen yeshivas to halt the placement of students in tank units over the initiative. The IDF said senior officials have recently held discussions with Hesder Yeshiva leaders and representatives of the Religious Zionist community regarding the issue.
“The IDF is the people's army,” Zamir stated at a conference, emphasizing the importance of integrating different sectors of Israeli society while ensuring that such integration does not come “at the expense” of another community.
