🛡️ ISRAEL-LEBANON FRONT: Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the Lebanese public directly, stating that Israel’s conflict was with Hezbollah rather than Lebanon itself. He accused Hezbollah of having “taken your country hostage” and argued that dismantling the organization could create conditions for greater security and prosperity in Lebanon.
Along the northern border, sirens warning of hostile aircraft infiltration were activated in the Misgav Am and Shlomi areas after suspicious aerial targets were identified near Lebanon. The IDF stated that one target did not cross into Israeli territory, while another was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force near areas where Israeli troops were operating in southern Lebanon. No injuries were reported.
Earlier, the Home Front Command issued precautionary alerts after launches from Lebanon toward northern Israeli communities. The IDF later confirmed that two launches fell adjacent to areas where Israeli troops were operating in southern Lebanon.
During the past week, IDF forces continued broad operations across southern Lebanon. According to the military, approximately 310 Hezbollah targets were struck and around 80 terrorists were eliminated in the Northern Command sector.
The IDF also detailed operations in the Dabin area, describing it as a Hezbollah stronghold used for anti-tank fire and attack planning. During Operation Roaring Lion, more than 30 terrorists were eliminated, dozens of terrorist infrastructures were dismantled, and more than 50 targets were struck from the air.
Additional operations north of the Saluki River focused on establishing operational control along the Forward Defense Line. The military stated that troops dismantled hundreds of terrorist structures, eliminated more than 50 terrorists, and seized explosive devices, anti-tank missiles, and launchers.
🎯 GAZA, JUDEA AND SAMARIA, AND INTERNAL SECURITY: In the Southern Command, operations continued in the Khan Yunis area targeting underground infrastructure and militant networks. More than 20 terrorists were eliminated, including three senior Islamic Jihad operatives and senior members of a Hamas financial transfer network.
In Judea and Samaria, security forces conducted dozens of counterterrorism operations and apprehended more than 50 wanted suspects accused of terrorism-related activity, incitement, and weapons trafficking. Forces also confiscated approximately 250,000 shekels intended for terrorist activity, along with weapons-manufacturing equipment, a drone, ammunition, and more than 10 weapons including improvised Carlo firearms.
The IDF stated that operations also continued along Israel’s eastern and western borders to counter smuggling activity and strengthen defensive measures.
During operations in Jenin, an explosive device detonated after troops identified a suspicious object. An officer was severely wounded and a non-commissioned officer was lightly injured. Both were evacuated for treatment, and the incident remained under investigation.
🚧 CIVIL DEFENSE AND PREPAREDNESS: Israel’s Crossing Authority announced a security exercise at the Reihan Crossing, warning residents nearby that sounds of gunfire and explosions could be heard during the drill.
Separately, Israel Airports Authority CEO Sharon Kedmi warned that up to 2.4 million summer airline tickets could be affected because dozens of U.S. military cargo and refueling aircraft were occupying parking areas at Ben Gurion and Ramon airports. According to Yedioth Ahronoth, airlines could begin issuing cancellation notices in the coming days, potentially affecting roughly one in four passengers.
