⚠️ Israel warns Iran against further attacks. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said any direct or proxy attack involving ballistic missiles, UAVs or other drones would be a “terrible mistake” and would draw a “very, very forceful” Israeli response. The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Israel has held intensive consultations with countries across the Middle East while preparing for possible large-scale U.S. strikes against Iran and the wider consequences of renewed escalation.
⚓ U.S. strikes remain paused as negotiations over the Strait of Hormuz continue. CENTCOM Commander Gen. Brad Cooper reportedly recommended ending the current bombing campaign after concluding that it had achieved most of its objectives and that additional limited strikes would have little effect. His recommendation and concerns over declining air-defense interceptor stocks reportedly influenced President Trump’s decision to pause the strikes on Friday.
Iran and Oman are negotiating a plan to reopen the strait. With both sides largely suspending attacks, the conflict has entered a temporary lull while diplomatic efforts continue. Cooper said a possible next step would be renewed major combat operations against the remaining 20% of U.S.-designated targets not struck during Operation Epic Fury, according to Axios.
🛡️ The IDF intercepted a Hezbollah reconnaissance drone in southern Lebanon. Forces identified and shot down the aircraft in the Ali Taher area earlier today, according to Ynet.
🎯 The IDF eliminated a senior Hamas UAV commander in central Gaza. Hamam Eid, commander of Hamas’ UAV cell in the central camps, was responsible for producing drones intended to attack Israeli civilians and IDF troops.
Eid previously headed the drone unit in the central camps and participated in planning and conducting aerial attacks against IDF forces. The IDF said he had recently worked to rebuild and strengthen Hamas’ aerial capabilities in violation of the ceasefire agreement.
📍 The cabinet advanced preparations for an International Stabilization Force in Gaza. A political source said initial authorization for the force was established under President Trump’s 20-point plan, which led to the release of all the hostages.
Israel maintains that the IDF will continue holding the Yellow Line and will not withdraw until Hamas is completely disarmed and Gaza fully demilitarized. The force would operate in coordination with the IDF in areas beyond the Yellow Line that are not under Israeli military control.
The cabinet granted the force immunity under the Immunities for International Organizations Law. Every participating member will require approval from the prime minister, defense minister and foreign minister, while Israel will determine which countries may contribute personnel.
Eligibility will be limited to countries that have peace agreements with Israel and are not acting against Israel or Israeli officials internationally. The current plan calls for approximately 200 personnel from friendly countries, including Uganda and Morocco, whose forces are preparing for deployment behind the Yellow Line.
