🛡️ IDF PREPARES FOR RETALIATORY VIOLENCE: The IDF is reinforcing the area following this morning’s deadly terror attack near the village of Tell and ahead of the funeral of Benayahu Mellet, 32, who was killed in the incident.
Forces are being deployed to prevent “confrontations” between Israelis and Palestinians. A military official warned of an “atmosphere” of revenge, including calls to enter Palestinian villages and carry out attacks. The army’s immediate priority is maintaining order.
Leave has been suspended across the sector, including within the Central Command, and additional forces have been deployed amid concerns over “copycat attacks” and retaliatory violence.
❌ BROAD COUNTERTERRORISM ACTIVITY LAUNCHED: Following the attack, IDF forces are preparing for extensive counterterrorism operations targeting terrorism and incitement throughout the sector.
Overnight, soldiers apprehended nine wanted suspects accused of inciting terrorism and terrorist attacks, questioned additional suspects and located weapons.
More than 80 wanted suspects were apprehended throughout Judea and Samaria over the past week. They included individuals accused of incitement, Hamas affiliates, perpetrators of stone-throwing and Molotov cocktail attacks, and terrorists involved in manufacturing or using explosive devices.
📍 EIGHT DETAINED AFTER STONES THROWN AT ISRAELI VEHICLE: IDF forces were dispatched to the Maoz Zvi area of the Menashe Brigade following a report that several suspects had thrown stones at an Israeli vehicle traveling on a road in the area.
Upon arrival, forces detained eight suspects, who were being questioned at the scene.
⚠️ IDF WARNS AGAINST ATTACKS ON PALESTINIANS: The IDF emphasized that retaliatory attacks against Palestinians would divert attention and military resources away from confronting the underlying terrorist threat.
🛰️ SENIOR COMMANDERS HOLD SECURITY ASSESSMENT: Central Command Commander MG Avi Bluth and Judea and Samaria Division Commander BG Kobi Heller conducted a situational assessment at the scene of the attack.
An analysis of the accompanying footage contends that the security coordinator and soldiers showed restraint for several minutes and could have opened fire earlier but did not, despite the apparent threat. According to the analysis, they opened fire only after the weapon was seized, countering accusations that Israeli forces were quick to use lethal force against Palestinians.
