💥 Major Hezbollah underground complex destroyed in southern Lebanon: The IDF demolished a large Hezbollah underground facility in Majdal Zoun, inside the Security Zone in southern Lebanon, after warning residents of the Western Galilee to expect a powerful explosion. Authorities also cautioned that seismic monitoring systems not linked to the IDF Home Front Command could mistakenly register the blast as an earthquake.
The underground complex, constructed with Iranian technology and expertise, extended more than 200 meters in length and over 25 meters underground. IDF troops located hundreds of weapons, four launch shafts directed toward Israel, and infrastructure used to assemble, store, and launch Iranian-made unmanned aerial vehicles. The military released footage of the demolition, while Israeli reports described the quantity of explosives used as unprecedented during the war.
🛡️ Operation "Final Verse" and continued activity in Lebanon: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said the tunnel's destruction was carried out as part of Operation "Final Verse." They stated that Israel informed both the United States and the American representative in Lebanon before the demolition and reaffirmed that IDF forces will remain in the southern Lebanon security zone to continue dismantling terrorist infrastructure and protecting Israel's northern communities.
Separately, Israeli forces carried out overnight strikes in the al-Fawqa and al-Musallah districts of Nabatieh and in the town of Maifadoun in southern Lebanon.
🪖 Findings released on the June 19 attack: An IDF investigation concluded that the June 19 attack that killed four Israeli soldiers was carried out by an explosive-laden Hezbollah drone rather than an anti-tank guided missile. According to the findings, the drone was likely equipped with an anti-tank warhead.
Those killed were Lt. Col. Dor Gedalia Ben Simhon, commander of the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade, Staff Sgt. Yoav Klein, Staff Sgt. Liav Kababia, and Staff Sgt. Nave Habshoosh.
⚔️ Operations continue in southern Syria: Israeli forces operating in southern Syria came under fire during an operation. The IDF reported no Israeli casualties and responded with mortar fire while an Israeli Air Force helicopter struck an open area.
Earlier, Israeli artillery shelled the town of Abideen, reportedly prompting residents to flee, while helicopters were later observed in the area during what appeared to be a ground operation to detain a target. The incident followed an earlier IDF announcement that two individuals had been eliminated after allegedly entering a security zone. According to Al-Arabiya, missiles were also intercepted over northern Jordan.
⚠️ Regional responses and security posture: Syria's Foreign Ministry condemned Israeli operations in Quneitra and Daraa, describing them as violations of Syrian sovereignty, international law, the UN Charter, and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
Lebanese media also reported that CENTCOM Commander Gen. Brad Cooper is expected to visit Lebanon.
Israel, meanwhile, is reportedly preparing for the possibility of an Iranian attack on the Israeli home front following the signing of the Israel-Lebanon agreement.
