U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed: "At the direction of the Commander in Chief, U.S. Central Command forces have started conducting additional strikes against Iran to further degrade their ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The US is holding Iran accountable for recent unjustified aggression against commercial shipping and civilian crews freely navigating a vital international waterway."
A U.S. official told Axios: "The US military is launching strikes against Iranian military targets in the Strait of Hormuz."
💥 Military, maritime, and infrastructure targets reported hit: U.S. strikes reportedly targeted the IRGC Navy's Imam Ali Naval Base in Chabahar.
Explosions were reported in Chabahar, Karnak, Bandar Abbas, Bandar-e-Jask, and on the Iranian island of Abu Musa. At least eight explosions were reported in Bandar Abbas.
Iranian media reported that two docks and a maritime traffic control tower in Chabahar were struck. Initial reports also indicated U.S. strikes targeted Iranian power infrastructure, including the alleged Nadasa power plant in Chabahar.
⚠️ Power outages and damage assessments continue: Mehr News reported widespread power outages across most of Chabahar after three power lines were damaged, with Iranian authorities working to restore electricity.
IRIB reported damage to the Imam Ali Hospital in Chabahar. Footage circulating online purports to show the strikes on the IRGC Navy's Imam Ali Base and other targets.
