🇮🇷 U.S.-IRAN MEMORANDUM, REGIONAL DIPLOMACY, AND THE LEBANON FRONT

🌍 U.S.-IRAN MEMORANDUM AND REGIONAL DIPLOMACY: The United States, Iran, and mediating countries are discussing advancing the electronic signing of a memorandum of understanding currently scheduled for Friday. According to Axios, the signing could occur earlier, potentially bringing provisions related to the Strait of Hormuz into effect and leading to publication of the agreement's text.

A planned meeting in Switzerland between U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf remains on schedule and is expected to focus on launching negotiations concerning Iran's nuclear program. Iran's Foreign Ministry said Tehran is considering remote signing of the memorandum and stated that the document includes a U.S. commitment to respect Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

⚓ LEBANON AND THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ: Iran said Lebanon is referenced several times in the memorandum and argued that hostilities should end across all fronts, particularly in Lebanon. Tehran claimed that Israel's continued military presence in southern Lebanon contradicts the framework and warned it would take what it described as necessary measures in response.

Iran also announced cooperation with Oman regarding management of the Strait of Hormuz and maritime services, while consulting regional states when required.

đŸ‡ē🇸 TRUMP'S ASSESSMENT OF THE FRAMEWORK: President Trump emphasized that the memorandum is not a final agreement and stated that military options remain available should Iran fail to comply. At the same time, he expressed hope that the arrangement could serve as the basis for a broader regional understanding and said the parties were "very close."

Trump highlighted U.S. surveillance capabilities, Space Force assets, and the effectiveness of the maritime blockade. He also described the elimination of IRGC Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani as a joint U.S.-Israeli operation and argued that Soleimani's removal helped create conditions that contributed to the current diplomatic process.

đŸ›°ī¸ ISRAELI ASSESSMENTS: According to Maariv, Israeli officials expect the U.S.-Iran diplomatic track to eventually fail and believe any future agreement could prove unsustainable. The report stated that the government has instructed the IDF to continue expanding target banks for potential future escalation, despite Israeli officers not yet having reviewed the unpublished framework.

🇱🇧 LEBANON FRONT: Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem declared that what he described as a U.S.-led effort against Iran had failed and argued that Iran's regional influence has expanded. He reiterated Hezbollah's demand for a complete Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon.

The IDF continued operations in southern Lebanon, including activity in the center of Hadatha, where forces are demolishing structures suspected of containing Hezbollah infrastructure. Several rockets were launched toward Israeli forces. Some were intercepted by the Israeli Air Force while others landed near troops. No injuries were reported.

🚁 HEZBOLLAH FPV DRONE ATTACK: Five IDF soldiers were wounded in a Hezbollah FPV explosive drone attack near Kfar Tebnit. A first drone exploded beside a tank, wounding four soldiers. Minutes later, a second drone struck near a vehicle involved in evacuating the wounded, injuring a fifth soldier.

One soldier was seriously wounded, two moderately wounded, and two lightly wounded. All were evacuated to hospital and their families were notified. The IDF subsequently conducted artillery fire against Hezbollah infrastructure in the area.

đŸ›Šī¸ AERIAL SECURITY INCIDENT: An interceptor was launched toward a suspicious aerial target detected near an area where Israeli forces were operating in southern Lebanon. The incident concluded without casualties and no civilian warning sirens were activated in accordance with protocol.
