💥 U.S. expands strikes to keep Hormuz open: The U.S. military launched a larger overnight wave of strikes against Iran, saying the operation was aimed at keeping the Strait of Hormuz open after Iran’s attacks on commercial shipping.
President Trump wrote: "This is in retribution for yesterday's bombing of ships by Iran. If it happens again, it will get much worse!"
A U.S. official told CNN: "The ceasefire with Iran is no longer in effect, at least temporarily for now."
The escalation has dented hopes of turning the June 17 memorandum of understanding into a permanent deal to end the war.
💥 CENTCOM says approximately 90 Iranian military targets were hit: U.S. Central Command said the latest strikes hit approximately 90 Iranian military targets, including air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure along Iran’s coastline.
CENTCOM had earlier said Tuesday’s first wave struck more than 80 targets.
Iranian media reported strikes along Iran’s southern coast, from the Strait of Hormuz to the Gulf of Oman, including Bandar Abbas, Konarak, Chabahar, Iranshahr, and sites near Ahvaz.
A U.S. official told Axios that the U.S. military also struck two railway bridges in northern Iran with cruise missiles, the first reported U.S. strike on Iranian infrastructure since the April 8 ceasefire.
Iranian reports said power was restored to most of Chabahar after strikes knocked out electricity in parts of the city. Media also reported a maritime traffic control tower in Chabahar was hit.
State media said a firefighter was killed in a strike on the airport in Iranshahr. A provincial security official said three people were killed and several wounded in a strike near Ahvaz.
⚠️ Iran attacks U.S. bases in Bahrain and Kuwait: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced the first phase of a retaliatory missile and UAV operation targeting Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, along with Naval Support Activity Bahrain in Juffair and Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
The IRGC said: "In response to American violations, we destroyed infrastructure and important facilities at two American colonial occupation bases in Arifjan and Ali Al Salem in Kuwait, and at Juffair and Sheikh Isa in Bahrain. The IRGC warns the US military that if it repeats its aggression, our crushing responses will be extended to other US bases in the region."
Iranian media reported missile impacts, renewed explosions, sirens, and fires near the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain, along with additional explosions at U.S. facilities in Kuwait.
Reports also said sirens sounded at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in eastern Jordan.
⚠️ Iran threatens wider regional retaliation: Nournews, affiliated with Iran’s top security body, cited a military source saying Tehran would soon launch a "massive attack" on U.S. bases in the region. The threat was echoed by a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.
An Iranian security source told Al-Mayadeen: "We have warned that any attack will be met with an immediate and widespread response. If Trump wants oil prices to rise, we welcome that."
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said: "America has yet to grasp that bullying and dishonesty are no longer forgivable. In other words, you get what you pay for. Don't waste your time, or you'll sink even deeper. The Strait of Hormuz will only be opened through Iranian agreements, not American threats."
The IRGC statement also praised recent funeral processions in Iran and Iraq as demonstrations of public support for Iran’s leadership, framing them as evidence of national and regional resolve.
