🔸 U.S. CEASEFIRE CLARIFICATION: Vice President J.D. Vance says Iran mistakenly believed the ceasefire included Lebanon, but no such commitment was made. He says Israel independently offered some restraint in Lebanon to help the talks succeed, not because it was part of the ceasefire agreement.
🔸 ISRAEL-U.S. COORDINATION ON LEBANON: Just before the ceasefire was announced, Prime Minister Netanyahu discussed Lebanon in a phone call with President Trump. During the call, they agreed that Israel could continue strikes in Lebanon even as the ceasefire with Iran took effect, and U.S. officials say the White House does not believe those strikes will jeopardize the broader ceasefire with Iran.
⚠️ IRAN THREATENS RESPONSE OVER LEBANON: IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Majid Moosavi says, "An attack on Hezbollah is an attack on Iran. We are preparing for a harsh response to the brutal crimes of the Zionist entity in Lebanon".
🇺🇸 WHITE HOUSE POSITION ON IRAN OPERATION: The White House says President Trump launched the operation six weeks ago to eliminate the imminent threat posed by Iran. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says that threat has now been greatly destroyed thanks to the success of Operation Epic Fury.
⚔ IDF ASSESSMENT OF THE IRAN WAR: IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin says the military "met all the goals and objectives set for it, and even exceeded them" during the war in Iran. He says Israel "significantly struck all of its systems and capabilities, eliminated its leadership, damaged its command and control systems, eliminated many of its commanders, and severely hit its military industries, ballistic missile array, economic targets, and nuclear targets."
⚠️ ATTACKS AFTER THE CEASEFIRE ANNOUNCEMENT: Despite the ceasefire announcement, Iran has fired several salvos of ballistic missiles at Israel. Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates also say they came under Iranian missile and drone attacks despite the ceasefire.
The Kuwaiti military says it has been dealing with “an intense wave of hostile Iranian attacks” since 8 a.m., during which 28 drones were intercepted. It says some of the drones targeted vital oil facilities, power stations, and water desalination plants, causing major infrastructure damage.
At the same time, the UAE defense ministry says its air defenses are engaging missile and drone attacks from Iran.
💥 LAVAN ISLAND REPORT: Iran says an oil refinery on Lavan Island was struck by airstrikes at around 10 a.m. Iran’s National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company says the refinery facilities were subjected to an attack.
The IDF denies any involvement in the reported strike targeting the oil refinery on Lavan Island.
✡️ SYNAGOGUE DAMAGE IN TEHRAN: The IDF says it struck a senior commander from Khatam al-Anbiya, Iran’s military emergency command, during overnight operations. Iranian media reports that heavy damage was also caused to the Rafi Niya synagogue nearby.
In response to a query by The Times of Israel, the military says: “The IDF regrets the collateral damage to the synagogue and emphasizes that the strike was directed at a senior military target within the regime's armed forces.”
The IDF says it took steps to minimize the risk of harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance. The military adds that the results of the strike are still under review.
