🇹🇷 TRUMP PRAISES ERDOGAN AS F-35 ISSUE RETURNS TO THE FOREGROUND: President Trump arrived in Ankara for the NATO Summit and was welcomed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan said regarding the sale of F-35 fighter jets: "We had received a commitment for five aircraft, and President Trump has also given his word on this matter. President Trump always stands by his word. I believe a favorable decision will be made regarding the F-35 program."
A CNN reporter said President Trump is considering approving F-35 sales to Turkey.
🇮🇱 NETANYAHU WARNS AGAINST F-35 SALES TO TURKEY: Prime Minister Netanyahu has publicly opposed the possible sale, saying, "It would destroy the power balance in the Middle East. I wouldn't do that."
According to Israeli Channel 13, Netanyahu also said during a closed-door discussion: "Erdogan is not eccentric, he is an enemy."
The report added that Netanyahu has been appearing on U.S. television networks warning against the possible sale, reportedly comparing Erdogan to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and describing Turkey as a "second North Korea."
🇺🇸 TRUMP: ERDOGAN WAS KEPT OUT OF THE WAR: President Trump praised Turkey as "a great ally," saying his personal relationship with Turkish President Erdogan helped prevent Turkey from joining the regional war against Israel. According to Trump, Erdogan wanted to enter the conflict on the opposing side but ultimately did not, adding, "If it weren't for me, he would have gone in."
Trump also referred to tensions between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Erdogan, saying Netanyahu had made "rough" comments about the Turkish leader. He further expressed confidence that Erdogan does not want Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon, while reiterating that Turkey is a powerful country that ultimately stayed out of the conflict.
🛰️ REPORT: IRANIAN QUDS FORCE UNIT LINKED TO ASSASSINATION PLOTS: According to Channel 14, new intelligence reports indicate that Iran's Quds Force, part of the IRGC, has reportedly established a unit called Mukhtar.
The unit is reportedly working with Mexican cartels and elements of the Iranian diaspora to plan assassinations of President Trump and other U.S. officials.
💼 FRANCE AND SYRIA EXPAND RECONSTRUCTION PARTNERSHIP: Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and French President Emmanuel Macron held an economic forum in Damascus outlining broad reconstruction and investment cooperation.
Al-Sharaa said Syria wants France to become its primary partner in global trade corridors, stating that early investors "will reap the rewards early." He described the partnership as a model for Syria's future international relations while highlighting infrastructure modernization, banking reforms, and plans to develop Syrian industrial cities into global investment hubs.
Macron said France would remain a "reliable, consistent, and predictable partner," adding that nothing should undermine Syria's sovereignty and security. He said France will help rebuild Syria's banking sector, restore international economic confidence, and encourage French companies to pursue the significant commercial opportunities emerging as Syria advances its reconstruction.
