🛡️ Lebanon operations: The IDF said its 55th Brigade completed its mission in southern Lebanon after dismantling more than 600 terrorist infrastructure sites and, together with the Yahalom Unit, eight underground routes. Operating under the 91st Division in the security zone, troops also located dozens of missile launchers left before the ceasefire took effect. A brigade-wide operation in Al-Mansouri aimed at preventing Hezbollah from reestablishing itself included dismantling an underground route inside a civilian home.
Other reporting described heavy clashes between Hezbollah and the IDF in Mansouri, heavy Israeli artillery fire on the outskirts of Nabatieh Al Fawqa and strikes on Kfar Romman. Israeli fighter jets were also reported over southern Lebanon during the artillery fire.
The IDF said soldiers opened fire toward two suspects who entered the Security Zone and approached them, neutralizing both. No IDF injuries were reported, and the incident remains under review. An interceptor was also launched toward a suspicious aerial target near an area where troops were operating. That incident is under review; no sirens sounded, in accordance with protocol.
🎯 Gaza operations and border security: The IDF reported eliminating two Hamas military-wing operatives in separate aerial strikes the day before its report: money exchanger Shadi Abu Hasira in the Gaza City area and sniper Adi Adli Abd Al-Aaser in southern Gaza. It said both had recently advanced attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and worked to restore Hamas’ capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire. The military described the sniper strike as removing an immediate threat.
According to the IDF, Abu Hasira headed the “Geneva” exchange network, which transferred tens of millions of Israeli shekels in foreign currency to Hamas’ military wing to finance terrorists, restore military infrastructure and advance attacks against troops. He also conducted commercial activities in Gaza and managed “Gardena Professional,” which facilitated his money transfers. The IDF said efforts to disrupt Hamas’ military financing and prevent the restoration of its capabilities continue.
i24NEWS reported that intelligence prompted a higher alert level for the two IDF divisions deployed in Gaza over a possible Hamas attempt to abduct a soldier along the Yellow Line in the near future. A senior military official warned of a possible “Gilad Shalit-style” abduction ahead of elections in Israel and the U.S.
Along the eastern border, IDF observation posts and the Israeli Air Force’s Aerial Control Unit identified a weapons-smuggling drone crossing into Israel from the east during an overnight incident. Dispatched troops recovered the drone carrying nine Kalashnikov rifles, magazines and a handgun, which were transferred to security forces.
