🎯 WITHDRAWAL DEBATE INTENSIFIES IN ISRAEL: Israeli armored forces were observed advancing toward Hadatha in southern Lebanon.
Saudi reports claim that implementation of the U.S.-Iran agreement would require Israel to begin withdrawing from Lebanon and complete a final withdrawal before a permanent agreement is concluded.
According to Haaretz, the IDF is increasingly concerned that a diplomatic arrangement could require a withdrawal to the Yellow Line, effectively reversing territorial gains achieved during the ground campaign. Military officials reportedly fear that relinquishing positions secured during recent operations, including Beaufort Castle, could strengthen Hezbollah's narrative and increase future threats to northern Israeli communities.
Senior officers reportedly argue that any withdrawal should be conditions-based and coordinated rather than tied to a diplomatic timetable.
🇮🇱 GOVERNMENT REJECTS FORCED TIMETABLES: Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich rejected reports of an impending withdrawal and stated that Israel will remain in southern Lebanon for as long as Hezbollah remains armed.
Smotrich also criticized the U.S.-Iran agreement, argued that the Iranian regime must ultimately be removed from power, and stated that Israel would continue acting independently against Iranian threats.
⚠️ RETALIATION CONCERNS PERSIST: American media outlets reported concerns that Iran could launch a surprise retaliatory attack against Israel without advance warning in connection with developments surrounding Lebanon.
🔗 ISRAEL–SOMALILAND SECURITY COOPERATION: Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that Israel and Somaliland have cooperated for years through undisclosed security activities and are now working to deepen that cooperation.
Senior defense, intelligence, military, and diplomatic officials from both sides participated in the discussions.
🚍 PAKISTAN FACILITATES IRANIAN REPATRIATION: Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced that Pakistan is facilitating the return of 30 Iranian nationals.
The group includes eight Iranian fishermen rescued after their vessel ran aground and 22 crew members from the vessel Lenore/Davina, which was recently interdicted by U.S. authorities.
Pakistan stated that it remains in coordination with Iranian, American, and British authorities and continues to support humanitarian cooperation.
✈️ ISRAELI AIR FORCE REVEALS CANCELED LONG-RANGE OPERATION: Israeli Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Omer Tischler stated that Israeli aircraft operated approximately 1,500 kilometers from Israel during the recent conflict, striking dozens of targets and significantly degrading Iranian air-defense capabilities.
According to Tischler, by the afternoon of June 8 the Air Force had completed preparations for a major operation targeting hundreds of sites across Iran. The mission was canceled approximately one hour before launch while final operational briefings were underway.
Reports indicate that Prime Minister Netanyahu halted the operation after President Trump instructed Israel not to escalate the confrontation.
