🇮🇱 ISRAEL RECOGNIZES THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE; POLICE INVESTIGATE DEADLY HOLON CAR BOMB AND CABINET ADVANCES ELECTION-ERA POLICY MOVES

💥 DEADLY VEHICLE BOMB EXPLOSION IN HOLON: A vehicle exploded this afternoon on HaLohamim Street in Holon.

One person was evacuated from the scene in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

Large police forces were at the scene conducting initial investigative activities and searching for suspects.

Tel Aviv District Commander Haim Sargarof held a situational assessment with senior officers at the scene, and the investigation has been assigned to the Tel Aviv Central Investigations Unit.

Police say the incident is believed to be criminal in nature.

The Holon explosion followed an earlier vehicle blast in Jaffa, where one man was killed and his son was injured.

Additional reports said Tel Aviv-area streets were cordoned off amid concern over a possible third vehicle bomb.

Those reports raised fears of a coordinated attack, while the official police statement on the Holon blast described the suspected background as criminal.

🇮🇱 ISRAEL OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZES THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE: The Israeli government unanimously approved Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar's proposal to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide.

The resolution reverses a long-standing Israeli diplomatic policy previously maintained in part to preserve strategic ties with Turkey.

Sa'ar told the cabinet during Sunday's session: "It is never too late to do the right thing."

Sa'ar thanked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the cabinet for backing the resolution, describing the step as "a moral duty for the Jewish state" after "1.5 million deaths and the destruction of an ancient cultural heritage over a century ago."

The move carries immediate negative implications for already strained ties with Ankara, which strongly denies that the 1915-1917 mass killings and deportations constituted genocide and continues to condemn international recognitions.

🌍 SLOVENIA REPORTEDLY REVOKES RECOGNITION OF PALESTINE: Energy Minister Eli Cohen said the new Slovenian government has revoked its recognition of Palestine and will move its embassy to Jerusalem.

⚖️ CABINET TO DISCUSS FREEZE ON YESHIVA STUDENT ARRESTS: The Cabinet Secretary is expected to bring forward a proposal to freeze the arrests of yeshiva students until the elections.

Defense Minister Israel Katz joined the call to suspend the arrests, saying: "An urgent discussion must be scheduled."

Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman Boaz Bismuth is expected to convene the committee in the coming week to discuss a temporary order suspending the arrests.

🗳️ NETANYAHU CALLS FOR BROAD NATIONAL GOVERNMENT AFTER ELECTIONS: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeated during the cabinet meeting that after the elections, he will act to form a broad national government.

Netanyahu said anyone who wishes to join under the principles of Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people, military independence, and "no two states for two peoples" is invited to join.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir responded that he hoped unity would not mean boycotting parts of the right-wing bloc.

Ben Gvir said the first proposal before the cabinet dealt with Jewish identity, adding that only a right-wing government could advance that issue, along with judicial reform and settlement of the Land of Israel.

Netanyahu replied that there would be no boycotts.
