❌ Hamas financing networks targeted: The IDF said it and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) have eliminated 16 "key" Hamas financial operatives throughout the war. The operatives managed transfers totaling more than $1 billion for Hamas’ military activities in the Gaza Strip, "using a network of dozens of money changers in Turkey and the Gaza Strip."
Among those eliminated were Ibrahim Abu Shamala, the financial officer of Hamas’ military wing, and Mohammed Abu Alwan, who was responsible for the political wing’s funds and was eliminated last Wednesday. Also eliminated were Khader Jamasi, Ihab Khraizem and Hussein Qadra, who headed networks managing the offsetting, receipt and transfer of Hamas funds.
According to the military, these funds finance Hamas terrorists, weapons capabilities, restoration of terrorist infrastructure and plots against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians. It said the money-changing network transfers hundreds of millions of dollars and that operations against Hamas financing have significantly affected its military activities during the war.
"The IDF and Shin Bet are focusing efforts on harming the Hamas terror organization's financing capabilities, particularly preventing the rehabilitation of its infrastructure and military capabilities, while eliminating the network of money changers that finances Hamas's military wing," the army said.
The IDF warned Gaza residents that "additional elements are operating in your area that continue to engage in financing efforts, fund transfers and advancing the military activities of the Hamas terror organization while putting your lives at risk."
Addressing those transferring funds to Hamas, the military said it would "continue to act against you and strike those who take a direct part in the financing mechanisms of Hamas's military activities, which are a target of IDF and Shin Bet operations." It described those directly participating in these financing mechanisms as lawful targets of IDF and Shin Bet operations.
🎯 Nukhba commander and another Hamas terrorist eliminated: The IDF said it eliminated Ibrahim Fawzi Ismail Mohsen, a Nukhba platoon commander in Hamas’ military wing, in a strike yesterday in Nuseirat. A separate strike yesterday in Khan Younis eliminated Mohammed Kamel Suleiman Mohsen, also a terrorist in Hamas’ military wing.
According to the IDF, both had recently advanced attacks against its troops and Israeli civilians and worked to restore Hamas’ capabilities in systematic violation of the ceasefire. It said the strikes were carried out to remove the threats they posed.
💥 Hezbollah weapons depot struck in southern Lebanon: Earlier today, the IDF struck a Hezbollah weapons storage facility in Sejoud to remove a threat to its soldiers, the military said. It said weapons identified at the facility had been used to target IDF soldiers operating in the Security Zone.
🛡️ Initial assessment points to false aerial identification: An initial assessment indicates that an interceptor launched yesterday toward a suspicious aerial target in southern Lebanon was fired following a false identification, the IDF said. The incident remains under review.
