🇮🇱 ISRAEL ADVANCES VENEZUELA RECOVERY, UK PROSCRIBES THE IRGC, ELECTION PREPARATIONS CONTINUE AS IDF CHIEF WARNS OVER DESERTER BILL

🇮🇱 Home Front Command Continues Earthquake Recovery Mission in Venezuela: Over the past week, the Home Front Command expert delegation continued operations in Venezuela, conducting structural classifications and stability assessments to support the safe continuation of search, rescue, and recovery efforts.

Delegation personnel visited affected sites, briefed residents on the condition of buildings, and carried out engineering assessments. Implementation of Venezuela's national earthquake recovery plan has also begun. The plan was developed by Home Front Command experts in Israel and approved by the President of Venezuela, the country's Minister of Infrastructure, and the local project management team.

🗳️ Coalition Targets October Election Date: The coalition is seeking to schedule national elections for October 27, the original planned date.

If held as scheduled, it would be Israel's first election held on time in 38 years and the first government to complete its full term in 53 years. Election day is now 107 days away, while candidate lists are scheduled to close on September 7, in 57 days.

For comparison, 107 days ago the IDF carried out its strikes across Iran.

A new Kan News poll projects Gadi Eisenkot gaining another seat at Naftali Bennett's expense, Bezalel Smotrich rising to five seats, Matan Tropper failing to cross the electoral threshold, and Prime Minister Netanyahu's bloc standing at 52 seats.

🛰️ Shin Bet Director Briefs Opposition Leader: Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) Director David Zini met this evening with Opposition Leader and former Prime Minister Yair Lapid in their first meeting since Zini took office.

Zini provided Lapid with a security briefing and operational update. The two discussed the importance of the Israel Security Agency's activities in thwarting threats across multiple sectors.

⚠️ IDF Chief of Staff Opposes Bill Freezing Arrests of Deserters: IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir sent a sharply worded letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz opposing legislation that would freeze arrests for military deserters.

Zamir warned the proposal was introduced while the IDF is conducting a multi-sector campaign and facing a severe manpower shortage that is directly affecting its ability to carry out operational missions. He argued the bill is not expected to increase recruitment in the immediate term and instead "provides an incentive to not report for military service," since it would exempt individuals from prosecution and criminal proceedings.

He concluded: "It is not possible for the military system under my leadership, which demands unprecedented sacrifice from its service members, to simultaneously sign off on granting mass exemptions from prosecution."

🛡️ United Kingdom Boosts Protection for Jewish Communities: The British government announced a £250 million investment over the next three years to combat antisemitism and strengthen security for Jewish communities across England and Wales.

The funding includes more than 500 additional police officers, increased patrols around schools, synagogues, and community centers, expanded counterterrorism efforts, and the "Servant" project, which deploys plainclothes specialists within communities to identify potential threats. Much of the investment will focus on London and Greater Manchester.

❌ United Kingdom Officially Designates IRGC as a Terrorist Organization: The United Kingdom has officially proscribed Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

Membership in the IRGC, attending its official meetings, or publicly displaying its symbols is now a criminal offense in Britain. The IRGC, established following Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution and loyal to the country's supreme leader, had already been subject to extensive British sanctions before this broader legal designation.
