⚔️ GAZA & CENTRAL COMMAND: IDF STRIKES HAMAS SITES; ZAMIR VOWS NO CONTAINMENT

🕑 Published: August 25, 2026 · 8:56 PM Israel time

💥 HAMAS WEAPONS SITES STRUCK INSIDE MOSQUES, NEAR HUMANITARIAN INFRASTRUCTURE: The IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) said they struck and dismantled five Hamas weapons-storage facilities and a Hamas launch site across Gaza yesterday. According to the IDF, the facilities contained rockets, weapons, explosive devices, grenades, ammunition and other military equipment intended to advance attacks against Israeli troops.

The IDF said the storage facilities were established inside mosques and alongside humanitarian infrastructure, describing this as another example of Hamas’ systematic exploitation of civilians and civilian infrastructure in violation of international law. It said advance warnings were issued to the population before all of the strikes, with precise munitions and aerial surveillance also used to mitigate harm to civilians. The IDF and Shin Bet described the strikes as a clear warning that they will not tolerate terrorist activity against Israeli civilians and will continue taking measures against threats.

⚔️ ZAMIR: OCTOBER 7 TERRORISTS WILL REMAIN HUNTED UNTIL ELIMINATED: IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said during a Gaza visit that Israel will not allow enemies along its borders, particularly in Gaza and Lebanon, to rebuild their capabilities or reestablish terrorist infrastructure. He said the IDF remains committed to the overarching objective of demilitarizing Gaza and disarming Hamas and will continue acting proactively and systematically against emerging threats.

Zamir said lessons from October 7 have changed the IDF’s approach: “The IDF will not return to the doctrines that prevailed on October 6th. There will be no containment of threats.”

“The pursuit of the terrorists who participated in the October 7th massacre continues. Everyone who took part in the massacre will live on the run until they are eliminated,” Zamir said, describing the pursuit as a long-term mission for Southern Command and the entire IDF.

His remarks come as the U.S.-led Board of Peace calls on Israel to limit military action in Gaza to responses against “genuine and imminent threats.” Zamir said the IDF remains prepared across all fronts as the nearly three-year multi-arena war continues, including Gaza, Judea and Samaria, Lebanon, Syria and Iran.

👁️ ZAMIR: OCTOBER 7 LESSON IS TO LISTEN TO EVERY SOLDIER: At the Gaza Division headquarters in Re’im, Zamir praised observation soldiers for protecting Gaza-border communities, identifying threats and supporting troops operating in the area.

“You are our eyes on the frontline, the first to identify infiltration threats and call troops to eliminate them,” Zamir said.

He said a central lesson of October 7 is that the IDF must never underestimate the enemy and must “listen carefully to every soldier” when assessing threats and making command decisions. Zamir said the observation soldiers’ familiarity with the area, institutional memory and ability to detect developments make them a critical source of knowledge for commanders and an integral part of Israel’s border defenses.

🛡️ NETANYAHU ATTENDS SHORT-NOTICE CENTRAL COMMAND DISCUSSION: Yesterday’s Central Command discussion attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was convened only a few hours in advance. The Central Command commander presented concerns about potential escalation resulting from violence by Jewish extremists.

Netanyahu asked to hear plans for continued offensive operations. The IDF chief of staff said the operational plans were ready and had been rehearsed, but said the short notice had not given him enough time to prepare a briefing on the matter.
