📍 Tehran says Hormuz remains closed: Iranian state television claimed that the strait remains closed because of what Iran describes as U.S. violations of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
Tehran says the closure is intended to establish Iranian sovereignty over the strategic waterway under the agreement.
Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters declared that it would not allow the United States to interfere in managing the strait. The Iranian military threatened decisive action against U.S. activity affecting commercial or oil tanker traffic outside routes designated by Iran or conducted without authorization from the Iranian Armed Forces.
Iran also warned regional governments that providing logistical or military assistance to U.S. forces would be considered an act of war against Iranian sovereignty and national security.
Tehran warned that an expansion of the conflict could engulf the entire region and placed responsibility for any wider war on the United States and countries supporting its military operations.
The statements underscore Iran’s rejection of any arrangement that reduces its control over Hormuz. Iranian leaders appear to view control of the strait as a central strategic objective and believe ending the conflict without securing that control would constitute a major defeat for the Islamic Republic.
⚔️ Trump vows continued strikes on Iran: President Trump said the United States would continue attacking Iranian targets whenever Tehran launches drones, stating that American forces struck Iran “very hard” overnight.
Trump said Washington and Tehran had previously reached an agreement that Iran later violated. He argued that previous U.S. administrations allowed Iran to grow stronger over 47 years by failing to confront it decisively.
He criticized former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama, specifically citing the Obama administration’s transfer of $1.7 billion in cash to Iran.
Trump also claimed that Iranian officials held an 11-hour meeting the previous day, describing Tehran’s decision-making process as slow and ineffective. He said Iran “has nothing left” following recent U.S. strikes.
Trump added: “There is a 90% chance that the new Iranian Supreme Leader is no longer alive.”
🛥️ U.S. uses attack sea drones in combat for first time: CENTCOM said American forces used multiple one-way attack surface drones to strike a submarine and ship-maintenance facility at Iran’s Bandar Abbas Naval Base.
Three Corsair unmanned surface vessels struck the port, marking the first known American combat use of attack sea drones.
CENTCOM said the operation degraded Iran’s ability to continue attacking international commercial shipping.
⚓ Hormuz traffic falls to lowest level in one month: Fourteen vessels crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, including seven commercial vessels and seven Iran-flagged ships, CBS reported, citing maritime tracker Kpler.
This marked the lowest daily total since June 13. At least three commodity vessels crossed on Monday, but shipping remained heavily disrupted by security risks.
💥 Gulf countries reportedly strike Iran: Israel Hayom reported that Gulf countries carried out strikes against Iran during the past two days after receiving approval from Qatar.
🇺🇸 Trump formally reports renewed fighting to Congress: The New York Times reported that President Trump officially informed Congress that fighting against Iran resumed last Wednesday, when U.S. forces conducted what the administration described as “defensive actions against targets in Iran.”
