🎯 RAILWAY AND BRIDGE INFRASTRUCTURE TARGETED: An Israeli official told Channel 12 that Israel is attacking Iran’s railway infrastructure as part of a major aerial campaign. Airstrikes are ongoing across the country.
Images posted online showed damage to a highway bridge between the northwestern Iranian cities of Hashtroud and Tabriz following apparent Israeli strikes. Another strike on a rail bridge in the central Iranian city of Kashan killed two people, according to Iranian media.
The IDF had warned Iranians earlier to stay away from trains. Train travel was canceled in Mashhad Province for 12 hours, until 9 PM local time, following an IDF warning telling Iranian citizens not to travel by train.
According to Channel 12, the Israeli Air Force attacked several key bridges across Iran to prevent the Revolutionary Guards from being able to transfer weapons. Yesterday, Defense Minister Israel Katz said the IDF had been instructed to “continue striking with full force the national infrastructure of the Iranian terror regime.”
💥 U.S. STRIKE REPORTED ON KHARG ISLAND: Airstrikes were reported on Kharg Island in southern Iran. A U.S. official told Axios: "The U.S. military attacked military targets on Kharg Island".
🔸 DIPLOMATIC TIMELINE AND TARGET APPROVALS: Axios reported that President Trump may delay his Tuesday 8 PM ET deadline for Iran if he sees clear progress toward a deal.
CNN reported that Israel approved a new list of Iranian energy and infrastructure targets in case diplomacy fails, but is waiting for U.S. approval before acting. Israeli officials are skeptical that a deal will succeed and are pushing for any ceasefire to require Iran to fully halt uranium enrichment and relinquish its enriched stockpile.
⚠️ IRGC THREATENS U.S. AND ALLIED INFRASTRUCTURE: The IRGC stated: "U.S. regional partners should know that, until now, we have exercised significant restraint out of good neighborliness and have taken care in selecting retaliatory targets. However, all such considerations have now been removed. We will target the infrastructure of the U.S. and its allies, depriving them of the region's oil and gas for years to come".
The IRGC added: "If the US crosses the red lines, our response will go beyond the region".
⚠️ QATAR WARNS OF LOSS OF CONTROL: The Qatari Foreign Ministry stated: "We are close to the point where the situation in the region could spiral out of control".
📌 CEASEFIRE AND ISRAEL CONTEXT
President Trump said: "Who is talking about 45 days? The only one that is going to set a ceasefire is me. I haven't set any ceasefire".
Axios reported PM Netanyahu urged US President Trump in a call yesterday not to pursue a ceasefire now.
Trump said: "I told Netanyahu that if we hadn't launched the operation against Iran, Israel and large parts of the Middle East would have been wiped out".
He also said: “If we had not torn up the Iranian nuclear deal signed by Obama, Israel would have been finished.”
Trump said: “Iran has been destroyed and is unable to resist, despite possessing some missiles and drones.”
On Qasem Soleimani, Trump said: “I canceled the nuclear deal and killed Qasem Soleimani. If he were still alive, we would be dealing with a completely different Iran today.”
He added: "If they had [IRGC Quds Forces commander] Soleimani, it would be a whole different thing. Maybe. We would still be winning, but it would be harder".
