🪖 ZAMIR SAYS THE IDF WILL REMAIN IN LEBANON AND EXPAND ITS FORCES: IDF Chief of Staff LTG Eyal Zamir said the Security Zone would remain in place until long-term security for northern communities is ensured. He said the military would deepen its operations if required.
Zamir noted that the IDF is simultaneously operating in Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, Judea and Samaria and other arenas. He said a larger force is needed to give regular brigades time for recovery and training while reducing the prolonged burden on reservists.
Addressing the Hasmonean Brigade’s Jonathan Battalion, Zamir said a central lesson of the October 7 massacre was the need to establish additional battalions and brigades.
He described ultra-Orthodox integration as vital to national security and said service arrangements must allow soldiers to preserve their faith and way of life. He called for the Jonathan Battalion model to be expanded and the Hasmonean Brigade developed into a full combat brigade.
🎯 PIJ COMMANDER INVOLVED IN OCTOBER 7 ABDUCTIONS ELIMINATED: The IDF eliminated Muhammad Khalil Muhammad Aslam, a Nukhba platoon commander in Palestinian Islamic Jihad, in a precise strike in Khan Yunis.
Aslam commanded a terrorist cell that participated in the abduction of Israeli civilians during the October 7 massacre. The IDF said he had recently advanced attacks against Israeli troops and civilians and posed an immediate threat.
🕳️ IDF DISMANTLES HAMAS TUNNELS AND WEAPON STORAGE SITES: The 188th Brigade and Yahalom dismantled more than 10 underground routes in southern Gaza, including one previously used to hold hostages.
Troops found rocket launchers, rockets, grenades, explosive devices and rifles. They also established new defensive routes and positions after eight months of operations to clear above-ground and underground infrastructure near the Yellow Line.
In separate IDF and Israel Security Agency strikes, four Hamas weapon storage facilities were dismantled. The sites contained rifles, explosives, ammunition and military equipment intended for attacks on troops near the Yellow Line and on Israeli civilians.
The IDF said Hamas continues violating the ceasefire while attempting to rebuild its military capabilities.
🚔 COUNTERTERRORISM OPERATIONS CONTINUE IN JUDEA AND SAMARIA: The IDF, Israel Security Agency and Border Police searched more than 170 structures during a wide-scale operation in Beit Ummar. Forces apprehended wanted individuals and located weapons.
The suspects had been involved in gunfire connected to a conflict between local families. Authorities were concerned that the violence could expand and be directed toward surrounding Israeli communities.
In al-Baytat, a terrorist accelerated a vehicle toward IDF troops and ignored repeated instructions to stop. The troops carried out a suspect-arrest procedure and neutralized him. No Israeli casualties were reported.
🏙️ NETANYAHU CONFIRMS SEPTEMBER VISIT TO NEW YORK: The prime minister said he plans to address the United Nations General Assembly despite Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s threat to act on the International Criminal Court warrant against him.
Netanyahu accused Mamdani of turning New Yorkers against the city’s Jewish population and said he would travel to New York to “speak the truth.”
Asked what would happen if he were forced to land in a country that might arrest him, Netanyahu replied: “We have special forces.”
🕊️ PAHLAVI ENVISIONS FUTURE ISRAELI-IRANIAN RELATIONS: Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran’s last Shah, described Israel and Iran as countries with a biblical relationship.
“We will find the best place for a nice Israeli Embassy in Tehran once the regime falls,” he said.
