🎯 IDF TARGETS HAMAS AND ISLAMIC JIHAD OPERATIVES IN GAZA: The IDF struck a Hamas military wing commander in the Deir al-Balah area who it said had recently advanced attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians while working to rehabilitate Hamas capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire. The strike was conducted to remove the threat he posed.
The commander was hiding within the compound of Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital. The IDF cited the incident as another example of Hamas's use of humanitarian infrastructure and systematic embedding within medical facilities to advance and carry out terrorist activity.
On August 27, the IDF conveyed a warning to medical authorities in Gaza regarding the use of medical facilities for terrorist purposes. It said it had made clear that it would act against any threat if such activity continued.
In separate strikes, the IDF eliminated Hani Abd al-Hai Fakhri Mazloum, a Hamas Nukba company commander, and Hassan Zidan Hassan Deiri, a sniper in Hamas's military wing. Both were also involved in trafficking and supplying weapons to Hamas terrorists. The IDF said they had recently continued advancing attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians while working to rehabilitate Hamas capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire.
The IDF also eliminated Ibrahim Nabil Ibrahim Bass, a Hamas military wing commander, in the Al-Shati area. Bass infiltrated Israel and participated in the October 7 Massacre.
In an additional strike in the Sabra area, the IDF eliminated Hamdi Ahmad Hamid Kahlil, an observation platoon commander in the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization. The IDF said Bass and Kahlil had continued advancing attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians while attempting to restore terrorist organization capabilities, both during the war and recently, in systematic violation of the ceasefire.
🎯 HAMAS OPERATIVE QAIS BITAWI AND TWO ACCOMPLICES ELIMINATED IN JENIN: In a joint IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) operation in the Jenin area on Friday, an Israeli Air Force drone strike eliminated Qais Bitawi and two accomplices based on precise Shin Bet intelligence.
Bitawi was a Hamas operative in the former Jenin terrorist network dismantled during Operation Iron Wall. According to the Shin Bet, he headed Hamas activity in the Jenin refugee camp.
The IDF and Shin Bet said Bitawi had advanced “significant terror activities and was involved in directing, financing, and carrying out attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces,” adding that he also “maintained ties with Hamas in Gaza and Hamas abroad.”
IDF troops and members of the police's elite Yamam unit launched the operation following intelligence regarding Bitawi's whereabouts. After Bitawi and two accomplices were spotted exiting a vehicle near a structure, the Air Force struck them. Security forces later found weapons in their vehicle.
Bitawi was a relative of Nour Bitawi, a previous commander of the Jenin terrorist network who was eliminated by Israeli security forces in May 2025.
The security forces said they will continue operating to thwart terrorism and maintain security in Judea and Samaria.
