The IDF said Hamas' Naval Police operates under Hamas' military wing and advances and directs terror attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel. Shahtout had recently worked to advance attacks against Israeli forces.
All three terrorists were traveling in an armed vehicle and were assessed to pose an immediate threat to IDF troops operating in the Gaza Strip. The strike was carried out to remove that threat.
🎯 IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) eliminate October 7 infiltration commander: On Thursday, the IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) eliminated Walid Haniyeh, Deputy Commander of a Hamas Nukhba company and nephew of former Hamas Political Bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh.
According to the IDF, Walid Haniyeh commanded the infiltration of a terrorist cell into Israeli territory on October 7, personally participated in the attack, directed the terrorist cell, and provided operational instructions as Israeli civilians were taken hostage into the Gaza Strip.
The IDF also said he had recently worked to recruit additional Hamas terrorists and oversee Nukhba military training.
🎯 Additional Hamas commanders eliminated: Last Wednesday, the IDF eliminated Abd al-Rahman Maher Abd al-Karim Ziyada, a commander of a Hamas Nukhba terrorist cell who infiltrated Israeli territory during the October 7 Massacre and looted an IDF military vehicle, taking it into the Gaza Strip.
In a separate strike in the Khan Yunis area, the IDF eliminated Kamal Mohammad Hamdan Najjar, Head of Hamas' Tunnel Unit in the Khan Yunis sector.
According to the IDF, both terrorists had continued advancing attacks against Israeli forces throughout the war, particularly in recent weeks, and were eliminated after posing an immediate threat to IDF troops.
