🔥 FIRE AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENT - NEOT HOVAV: Firefighting forces at the impact site report hazardous materials involvement after interceptor debris struck gas pipelines. The impact occurred at a factory belonging to Adama Agricultural Solutions, which produces agricultural products and solutions.
34 firefighting teams are still operating at the scene.
⚠️ ON-SCENE COMMANDER STATEMENT: "We are currently at the scene of a strike in the South. What you see behind me right now are firefighters from the Beersheba station handling a strike incident, which currently has consequences involving quite a few factors. Our first priority right now is to stop the fire behind me. The smoke you see is currently at an azimuth of 300°, which for us means it is heading toward Route 40. Based on our recommendation and that of the Israel Police, we have closed the road and are preventing public access.
I say again and request: anyone located near this plant who identifies the smoke—stay indoors. Shelter in your homes. For those currently in the line of the smoke who understand they can leave the area, that is our recommendation to you at this time. We are on-site, and we will ensure this incident is brought to a close."
