❗️ISRAEL POLICE AND SHIN BET DISMANTLE GAZA AID-ROUTE SMUGGLING NETWORK WITH INDICTMENTS FILED AS ISRAELI SUSPECTS ARRESTED AND SENTENCED IN SEPARATE IRANIAN ESPIONAGE CASES

⚖️ Israeli authorities announced the completion of an investigation into a coordinated smuggling network that exploited ceasefire humanitarian aid routes to transfer prohibited goods into Gaza. The joint Shin Bet and Israel Police operation led to the arrest of Israeli citizens, residents of Judea and Samaria, and Gaza residents suspected of organizing and executing smuggling operations. Investigators said the suspects used the large-scale aid flow during the ceasefire to move prohibited goods through multiple channels, despite awareness that such activity could directly strengthen terrorist organizations, particularly Hamas.

Authorities stated that interrogations uncovered a broad, organized infrastructure involving dozens of individuals who coordinated the smuggling of goods and equipment into Gaza. Security officials warned that such operations provide financial and logistical support that helps Hamas and other terrorist organizations rebuild military and civilian infrastructure, restore command-and-control capabilities, recruit and train operatives, and potentially establish routes that could later be used for weapons smuggling or operational attacks against Israeli forces.

The State Prosecutor’s Office filed indictments against 12 suspects and a company allegedly involved in the operation. Charges include assisting the enemy during wartime, dealing in property for terrorism-related purposes, aggravated fraud, bribery, tax offenses, and additional economic crimes. Prosecutors also requested asset confiscation linked to the alleged profits generated through the smuggling network.

The case includes Bezalel Zini, brother of the head of the Shin Bet, with a separate indictment expected. According to prosecutors, Zini, a reservist involved in logistical support for convoy operations entering Gaza, allegedly carried out three cigarette-smuggling operations through the Sufa crossing, receiving approximately 365,000 shekels. Additional suspects include reservist Aviel Ben David and Amir Dov Halperin, who are accused of multiple smuggling operations totaling millions of shekels, with profits allegedly shared among network members. Prosecutors stated the defendants knowingly bypassed wartime restrictions and understood that the goods could reach Hamas or its agents. Zini’s detention has been extended for two additional weeks while legal proceedings continue.

❗️ Two Israelis arrested for espionage on behalf of Iran: Authorities arrested two 20-year-old Israeli residents from the Jerusalem area on suspicion of spying for Iranian intelligence. The suspects allegedly received payments through digital wallets in exchange for their activities.

⚖️ Beit Shemesh resident sentenced in separate Iran espionage case: Elimelech Stern from Beit Shemesh was sentenced to three years in prison after being convicted of spying for Iran.

  1. I am so disheartened. So many struggling in this conflict from reserve families to lone soldiers, all who stand for Israel and our people. To have people of this rank and caliber sell out their country for money not because they are hungry and need bread for their children but for money just to make themselves richer! Where is the spirit and patriotism? They put themselves first before their country. What shame.

THE IRAN–U.S. CONFRONTATION WON’T START IN IRAN — AND ISRAEL MAY FACE STRONG INCENTIVES TO MOVE FIRST

The coming confrontation between Iran and the United States is often framed as a binary moment: Washington acts or holds back; Tehran retaliates or absorbs the pressure. This framing is simple, accessible, and largely misleading. If escalation occurs, it is unlikely to unfold as a conventional state-to-state conflict, and it is unlikely to begin where many observers expect. Instead, escalation would most likely emerge as a system-level event—an activation of Iran’s regional proxy architecture—designed to distribute risk, externalize damage, and preserve regime survival. Within that system, Israel is not a peripheral actor but a forward pressure point where consequences are most likely to manifest first. As the region moved into late December and early January, intelligence indicators suggested that Israel was preparing for a significant military campaign in southern Lebanon, extending south of the Litani River and potentially beyond it. According to this assessment, the campaign ...

🚨 SHABBAT EMERGENCY ALERT GUIDANCE FOR LONG-RANGE MISSILE THREATS TO ISRAEL

🪖 IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said there are no changes to the Home Front Command’s instructions for the Israeli public, despite ongoing tensions with Iran. “Ahead of the Sabbath, I want to say to all citizens of Israel: the IDF is optimally prepared, both defensively and offensively. It is important to emphasize that there is no change to the Home Front Command’s instructions. We will ensure to update you if there is any change,” he said. 🛡️ Home Front Command status: Home Front Command instructions remain unchanged at this time as noted. In long-range missile scenarios originating from Yemen or Iran, missiles travel roughly 1,600–2,000 kilometers, and early alerts may be issued several minutes before impact, ahead of the standard red alert siren. ⏱️ Warning time differences: Unlike short-range rocket fire from Gaza or Lebanon, where red alerts typically provide about 15 seconds to 1.5 minutes to reach shelter, long-range missile threats involve earlier notific...

⚠️ U.S. FORCES POSITION NAVAL AND AIR POWER WITHIN STRIKE RANGE OF IRAN AS ISRAEL EXTENDS RESERVE CALL-UP AND IRAN CARRIES OUT REPORTED PROTEST EXECUTION

‼️ U.S. naval and air posture near Iran: The USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group has moved into the eastern Arabian Sea and is preparing to enter the Gulf of Oman, placing U.S. naval airpower within direct strike range of Iran. Carrier-based F-35C Lightning II and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft, supported by aerial refueling, are assessed as able to reach deep into Iranian territory, including nuclear and missile-related sites. The carrier is assessed to be operating roughly 600–1,600 miles from Tehran. The broader U.S. naval posture under U.S. Central Command and European Command includes Tomahawk-capable destroyers USS Mitscher, McFaul, Oscar Austin, Roosevelt, Bulkeley, and Paul Ignatius, and submarines USS South Dakota and USS Georgia, with combined Tomahawk capacity estimated at 358 missiles, rising to approximately 454 when including the Abraham Lincoln strike group. The carrier group includes USS Abraham Lincoln with escort destroyers USS Frank E. Petersen, USS...
