⚠️ ISRAEL INTEGRATES ADVANCED DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS INTO NEW CH-53K FLEET, EXPANDS OFFICER SECURITY AND REGIONAL LIAISON ROLES, CONTINUES HEZBOLLAH TARGETING IN LEBANON AND COUNTERTERROR OPERATIONS IN JUDEA AND SAMARIA AMID IRAN TENSIONS

🚁 Defense Ministry Signs Major CH-53K Upgrade Deal: Israel’s Ministry of Defense signed a deal worth over ₪400 million with Elbit Systems to integrate advanced Israeli technologies into the new CH-53K “Pere” heavy transport helicopters. The package includes command and control, avionics, electronic warfare, warning systems, and advanced missile defense (DIRCM).

The upgrades will be installed on 12 helicopters purchased to replace the aging Yasur fleet. The helicopters were acquired through a U.S. Foreign Military Sales agreement and are currently being assembled by Lockheed Martin-Sikorsky in Connecticut before a dedicated Israeli modification process integrates operational systems tailored to Israeli Air Force mission requirements.

The upgrades are expected to improve cockpit capabilities and support safer operations in complex environments. They are also intended to enhance landing zone identification and obstacle detection.

Defense officials said the project is a key part of Israel’s multi-year force-build plan, including new aircraft, refueling platforms, and advanced weapons systems. They added that integrating Israeli technologies is intended to maintain operational superiority, strengthen domestic defense industry capabilities, ensure supply continuity, and enhance pilot safety and mission performance.

⚠️ Security Increased for Israeli Officers Amid Iran Threats: Amid concerns over retaliation by Iran and allied groups following Israeli assassinations, a significant number of Israeli officers have received enhanced security protection. The IDF also decided to expand the unit responsible for safeguarding senior military officers and Israeli military delegations abroad.

🗣️ U.S. Requests Restraint Toward Iran During Negotiations: The United States asked Israel to refrain from attacking Iran while negotiations remain ongoing.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said: "The situation with Iran is on the verge of an explosion that will engulf the entire Middle East".

💱A recent Shin Bet report said security forces detected Israelis who initiated contact with Iranian agents and offered to work for them in exchange for money.

⚠️ Hezbollah-Linked Report Cites Syrian Threat and Border Concerns: Hezbollah-affiliated outlet Al-Akhbar reported that Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa told close associates during a closed meeting: "Hezbollah's turn has come; we will not forget our revenge".

The report said Beirut fears potential military activity along the Lebanese–Syrian border and the possibility that a strike on Iran could be exploited to open a new front against Lebanon.

🎯 IDF Operations Continue in Southern Lebanon Against Hezbollah Rebuild Efforts: Troops are operating in southern Lebanon to prevent Hezbollah from reestablishing capabilities. This year, the unit’s troops eliminated approximately 60 Hezbollah terrorists and dismantled dozens of terrorist structures, weapons storage facilities, and observation posts.

The unit’s observation command centers also assisted in directing ground and aerial fire in hundreds of focused operations in southern Lebanon.

🔹 IDF Establishes Druze Regional Liaison Role: The IDF is establishing a new liaison position to manage relations with Druze communities in the Middle East, particularly in Syria and Lebanon. Major General Ghassan Alian, who is of Druze origin, has been appointed to the role under the IDF Northern Command.

❌ IDF Apprehends Two Terrorists in al-Am'ari Area: Overnight, IDF soldiers operated in the al-Am'ari area and apprehended two terrorists involved in terrorist activity throughout the war. The suspects were transferred to security forces for further questioning, and the IDF said it will continue to act to thwart terrorism across Judea and Samaria.

THE IRAN–U.S. CONFRONTATION WON’T START IN IRAN — AND ISRAEL MAY FACE STRONG INCENTIVES TO MOVE FIRST

The coming confrontation between Iran and the United States is often framed as a binary moment: Washington acts or holds back; Tehran retaliates or absorbs the pressure. This framing is simple, accessible, and largely misleading. If escalation occurs, it is unlikely to unfold as a conventional state-to-state conflict, and it is unlikely to begin where many observers expect. Instead, escalation would most likely emerge as a system-level event—an activation of Iran’s regional proxy architecture—designed to distribute risk, externalize damage, and preserve regime survival. Within that system, Israel is not a peripheral actor but a forward pressure point where consequences are most likely to manifest first. As the region moved into late December and early January, intelligence indicators suggested that Israel was preparing for a significant military campaign in southern Lebanon, extending south of the Litani River and potentially beyond it. According to this assessment, the campaign ...

🚨 SHABBAT EMERGENCY ALERT GUIDANCE FOR LONG-RANGE MISSILE THREATS TO ISRAEL

🪖 IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin said there are no changes to the Home Front Command’s instructions for the Israeli public, despite ongoing tensions with Iran. “Ahead of the Sabbath, I want to say to all citizens of Israel: the IDF is optimally prepared, both defensively and offensively. It is important to emphasize that there is no change to the Home Front Command’s instructions. We will ensure to update you if there is any change,” he said. 🛡️ Home Front Command status: Home Front Command instructions remain unchanged at this time as noted. In long-range missile scenarios originating from Yemen or Iran, missiles travel roughly 1,600–2,000 kilometers, and early alerts may be issued several minutes before impact, ahead of the standard red alert siren. ⏱️ Warning time differences: Unlike short-range rocket fire from Gaza or Lebanon, where red alerts typically provide about 15 seconds to 1.5 minutes to reach shelter, long-range missile threats involve earlier notific...

⚠️ U.S. FORCES POSITION NAVAL AND AIR POWER WITHIN STRIKE RANGE OF IRAN AS ISRAEL EXTENDS RESERVE CALL-UP AND IRAN CARRIES OUT REPORTED PROTEST EXECUTION

‼️ U.S. naval and air posture near Iran: The USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group has moved into the eastern Arabian Sea and is preparing to enter the Gulf of Oman, placing U.S. naval airpower within direct strike range of Iran. Carrier-based F-35C Lightning II and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft, supported by aerial refueling, are assessed as able to reach deep into Iranian territory, including nuclear and missile-related sites. The carrier is assessed to be operating roughly 600–1,600 miles from Tehran. The broader U.S. naval posture under U.S. Central Command and European Command includes Tomahawk-capable destroyers USS Mitscher, McFaul, Oscar Austin, Roosevelt, Bulkeley, and Paul Ignatius, and submarines USS South Dakota and USS Georgia, with combined Tomahawk capacity estimated at 358 missiles, rising to approximately 454 when including the Abraham Lincoln strike group. The carrier group includes USS Abraham Lincoln with escort destroyers USS Frank E. Petersen, USS...
