🛬 U.S. NEGOTIATION PREPARATIONS IN PAKISTAN: Three U.S. Air Force C-17 aircraft arrived in Pakistan carrying the Vice President’s security motorcade and equipment ahead of planned Iran-related talks.
New York Post reporter Caitlin Doornbos reported that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to travel to Islamabad on Tuesday for a second round of negotiations. ABC News, citing Washington’s ambassador to the Security Council, said JD Vance was initially expected to lead the U.S. delegation.
⚠️ VANCE TRIP CANCELED OVER SECURITY CONCERNS: President Trump later said Vice President JD Vance will not travel to Pakistan because of security concerns.
He said the Secret Service is not comfortable with Vance going within 24 hours, and that U.S. representatives will instead arrive in Islamabad for the talks.
⌛ CEASEFIRE DEADLINE AND ESCALATION RISK: Israeli sources told Axios that the IDF is preparing for a possible escalation with Iran.
A U.S. official warned that unless a diplomatic breakthrough is reached soon, active conflict could resume within days as the ceasefire is set to expire in approximately two days.
‼️ TRUMP SAYS TALKS MAY STILL PRODUCE A DEAL: President Trump told Fox News: "If Iran does not sign this deal, the whole country is getting blown up".
ABC News, citing Trump, reported that he said Iran committed a serious violation of the ceasefire, but added that an agreement is still possible and would happen “either in a friendly way or a hard way.”
‼️ TRUMP ACCUSES IRAN OF CEASEFIRE VIOLATION IN HORMUZ: President Trump stated: "Iran decided to fire bullets yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz — a total violation of our ceasefire agreement! Many were aimed at a French ship and a freighter from the UK."
He added: "My representatives are going to Islamabad, Pakistan — they will be there tomorrow evening for negotiations."
Trump also said: "Iran recently announced that they were closing the Strait, which is strange, because our blockade has already closed it."
‼️ TRUMP THREATENS MAJOR STRIKES IF TALKS FAIL: President Trump said: "We’re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it because, if they don’t, the United States is going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran."
He added: "NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!"
⚠️ IRANIAN ACTIONS AND INTERNAL TENSIONS: Tasnim reported that Iranian forces turned back two tankers that were heading toward the Strait of Hormuz and prevented them from passing.
IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Majid Moosavi said: "The speed of restoring missile and drone launch capabilities is higher than it was before the war". An advisor to the IRGC told The Wall Street Journal: "The military establishment was angered because Araqhchi did not coordinate with them before announcing the opening of the Strait of Hormuz".
