‼️ U.S. MAINTAINS HORMUZ BLOCKADE AS IRAN THREATENS CLOSURE, REJECTS NUCLEAR TERMS, AND CLASHES WITH SHIPPING

🔸 U.S.-IRAN TALKS REMAIN UNSETTLED: President Trump said the U.S. will keep the Strait of Hormuz blockade in place until a final deal with Iran is reached. He also said the U.S. will work with Iran to recover its enriched uranium and return it to the U.S., stating: "The U.S. will work with Iran to recover its enriched uranium and will bring it back to the U.S. We will go in at a leisurely pace to recover the uranium".

Trump said Iran agreed to suspend its nuclear program indefinitely, would not receive frozen U.S. funds, and had agreed to stop supporting groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas. He also said U.S. and Iranian negotiators would probably meet soon and that any final deal would "make Israel safe" and that "Israel is going to come out great" at the end of the war.

Iranian officials publicly rejected these claims. The Iranian Foreign Ministry said there is no plan to transfer 60% enriched uranium to the U.S., and Iranian officials said Tehran is not ready for a new round of talks, arguing that Washington has maintained excessive demands and has not abandoned its hardline stance.

⚠️ IRAN THREATENS TO RESTRICT OR CLOSE THE STRAIT: Iranian officials warned that continued U.S. blockade pressure would directly affect shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian statements said maritime passage would remain conditional, restricted to designated routes, and subject to Iranian authorization.

Iranian officials also warned that if the blockade continues, it will be considered a violation of the ceasefire and Iran will respond. The Iranian National Security Council said Tehran is still studying new American proposals and has not yet issued a response, while also warning that Iran could prevent even the limited opening of the Strait if pressure continues.

The IRGC said the Strait would be closed from the evening until the blockade is lifted and warned that vessels approaching the area would be considered cooperating with the enemy and could be targeted. An Iranian official also said Iran would continue restricting ship traffic during the ceasefire and impose tolls, with vessels required to coordinate with the IRGC.

⚔️ MARITIME CONFRONTATIONS ARE INCREASING: Iranian officials said they responded to a U.S. mine-clearing attempt and viewed it as a ceasefire violation. According to the Iranian Parliament Speaker, the situation nearly escalated into direct confrontation before the U.S. backed down.

British Naval Operations Command said two IRGC boats fired on a tanker and another ship in the Strait of Hormuz. Additional reports said the IRGC Navy forced two Indian vessels to turn back outside the Strait, and one of the ships was a large oil tanker carrying two million barrels of Iraqi oil.

Commercial vessels also reportedly received Iranian radio messages ordering them not to pass through the Strait. At least three attacks on commercial ships were reported, with one vessel hit but no injuries, and two of the targeted ships were identified as Indian tankers.

U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal that Washington is preparing in the coming days to board and seize Iran-linked tankers and commercial ships in international waters. India has summoned the Iranian ambassador after the IRGC Navy fired on an Indian tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.

❗️ BOTH SIDES SIGNAL FURTHER ESCALATION: A senior U.S. official told Axios that without a breakthrough soon, the war could resume within days. Trump also warned: "Unfortunately, we will have to start dropping bombs again if we don't reach an agreement with Iran".

Iranian officials responded with their own escalation warnings. Mohammad-Reza Naghdi, deputy coordinator of the IRGC, said that if the war continues, it could become a world war.

With new reports that the USS Gerald R. Ford, the world’s largest aircraft carrier, has returned to the Red Sea accompanied by two destroyers.
