♟️ U.S.–IRAN ESCALATION SIGNALS: Dan Diker, President of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, assesses that the confrontation with Iran is far from over, stating that the conflict has effectively been ongoing since 1979. He characterizes the Iranian regime as theological and apocalyptic, operating through deception as a consistent strategy to advance its objectives.
Regarding tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, Diker said that Donald Trump is unlikely to tolerate perceived diplomatic manipulation while violations continue on the ground, and would respond forcefully if he concludes he is being undermined.
He assesses that there is a very high likelihood of a return to a military campaign in the near term, potentially in full coordination with Israel.
🔥 REPORTED MARITIME INCIDENT: Conflicting Iranian claims of confrontation with U.S. forces
Iran’s Mehr News Agency, citing local sources, claims that U.S. forces fired on an Iranian commercial vessel in an attempt to force it to turn back.
According to the same report, an Iranian source said the situation escalated briefly, with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intervening, after which U.S. forces reportedly withdrew from the area.
The claims come solely from Iranian-linked sources and have not been independently confirmed.
‼️ IRANIAN ESCALATION WARNING: An Iranian source told Al Jazeera: "In light of Trump's statements about holding negotiations and inconsistency with what is actually happening between Iran and the US, we believe we are facing a deception by the enemy and we are on the verge of a new round of escalation".
⏱️ NETANYAHU REMARK ON TIMING: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "Every time Javier Milei visits Israel, it is just before something very big happens. Who knows what will happen tomorrow or the day after?"
🪖 IDF OPERATIONS IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: The IDF’s 162nd Division continues defensive activity south of the Forward Defense Line to remove the direct threat to communities in northern Israel. To date, troops have eliminated more than 250 terrorists, dismantled more than 405 terrorist infrastructures, and located more than 1,000 weapons and munitions items in the Forward Defense Area.
During one of the operations, body cameras belonging to Hezbollah operatives were found, containing recordings used for the organization’s propaganda. The IDF said it will continue operating to remove threats, maintain the security of Israeli civilians, and strengthen the forward defense posture.
🪖 IDF CASUALTY UPDATE: The IDF says 690 soldiers have been injured since the start of the military operation in Lebanon, including 42 in serious condition and 96 in moderate condition. The Israeli army also said 37 soldiers were injured in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours.
⚠️ HEZBOLLAH PRESSURE INSIDE LEBANON: Col. (res.) Dr. Jacques Neriah warned that Hezbollah’s threats against Lebanon’s president are not mere rhetoric, but a real danger. He said the organization has previously assassinated dozens of political opponents and is now signaling that even the country’s leadership is not immune if it deviates from the “resistance” line.
According to Neriah, Lebanon is functioning like a “powder keg,” with Hezbollah working to sabotage any attempt at an arrangement with Israel while preserving its military and political power. He added: “Hezbollah’s weapons are aimed both inward and outward, and therefore the organization will not give them up.”
