🔸 U.S.-IRAN NEGOTIATION SIGNALS: According to Channel 12, quoting Donald Trump, the framework of a potential agreement with Iran is now in place. Trump said he is “very optimistic” about how the negotiations are progressing.
Amit Segal reports that this is the general outline currently being discussed — but stresses clearly that nothing has been finalized.
The proposal centers on a 15-year suspension of uranium enrichment. The U.S. initially pushed for 20 years, while Iran wanted a shorter period, with both sides now appearing to converge on a middle ground. Part of the plan would involve converting enriched uranium into fuel, making it much harder to reverse back into weapons-grade material. However, the uranium would likely remain inside Iran — a point that raises concern in Israel.
The framework also includes full international inspections of nuclear sites, as well as guarantees tied to freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Beyond the nuclear issue, the deal reportedly includes broader components: ending the current conflict, a withdrawal of U.S. forces from the Gulf, and the lifting of economic sanctions on Iran.
From Israel’s perspective, the sanctions issue stands out as a major concern. Those sanctions have significantly weakened the Iranian regime economically, and were seen as part of a broader strategy to pressure it internally. Removing them could stabilize and strengthen the regime instead.
As a result, the prevailing view in Israel appears to favor maintaining the current balance — no full-scale war, but continued pressure — with U.S. forces remaining in the region as a deterrent.
At the same time, the outcome will ultimately depend on decisions beyond Israel’s control.
🔸 TALKS IN PAKISTAN REMAIN UNCERTAIN: The White House announced that Vice President JD Vance will attend the new talks with Iran in Pakistan, according to AFP citing a White House official. This came one hour after President Trump said Vance would not attend those talks.
Fars and Tasnim, citing official sources, report that Iran still has not confirmed it will attend the new round of talks in Pakistan.
⚠️ IRANIAN OFFICIALS FEAR POSSIBLE U.S. STRIKE: Axios reports that senior Iranian officials suspect the United States may launch an attack on Iran even before the ceasefire ends on Tuesday night.
