🇮🇱 NETANYAHU DISCUSSES LEBANON SECURITY ZONE AS IDF STRIKES HEZBOLLAH CELL AND ISRAEL APPROVES ELTA MERGER INTO IAI

💥 IDF STRIKES HEZBOLLAH TERRORIST CELL IN SOUTHERN LEBANON: Earlier today, IDF Commando Brigade troops identified a Hezbollah terrorist cell traveling on motorcycles in the Al Aqidah (Al-Uqaydah) area near Nabatieh, adjacent to the security zone where IDF forces are operating.

The IDF said the terrorists' activity posed a threat to Israeli forces. After identifying the threat, the military carried out a precise strike against the terrorists to remove the danger.

The IDF stated it will continue operating to remove any threat to its forces and will not allow Hezbollah to threaten Israeli civilians or IDF troops.

🔸 NETANYAHU REVIEWS SECURITY ZONE PLANS: Prime Minister Netanyahu convened ministers and senior defense officials to review the progress of the pilot program and plans to transfer responsibility for parts of southern Lebanon's security zone to the Lebanese Armed Forces as part of efforts to disarm Hezbollah.

Netanyahu also confirmed: "Christian villages in southern Lebanon have asked to be annexed by Israel, because we protect them against Hezbollah."

🇮🇱 ISRAEL APPROVES ELTA MERGER INTO ISRAEL AEROSPACE INDUSTRIES: The Israeli government approved the merger of Elta Systems into Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), with all of Elta's operations transferring to IAI without compensation. Elta will cease to exist as a separate legal entity, making IAI its sole owner.

The move is widely viewed as preparation for a future IAI public offering. Government officials believe consolidating Elta within IAI will increase the company's overall valuation by creating a larger, more integrated defense enterprise.

The decision follows a recent visit to New York by representatives of the Government Companies Authority, IAI, Rafael, and Israel's Ministry of Defense, who met with regulators and underwriters regarding the potential Nasdaq listing of Israeli defense companies.

🔹 STRATEGIC SIGNIFICANCE: Elta develops many of the advanced radar, sensors, communications, electronic warfare, intelligence, surveillance (ISTAR), homeland security, fire-control, and cyber defense systems that support both the IDF and numerous allied militaries worldwide.

According to government assessments, bringing these capabilities directly under IAI is expected to streamline management, strengthen investment in future technologies, and reinforce integration across Israel's defense industry.

Israeli defense analysts say the merger is intended to strengthen Israel's long-term technological and industrial foundation, better position IAI to compete for major international defense contracts, expand defense exports, attract investment through a future IPO, and support continued innovation, although it does not immediately change current IDF operational capabilities.
