🇮🇱 ISRAELI RESCUE DELEGATION OPERATING AT EARTHQUAKE SITES IN COLOMBIA: An Israeli delegation led by the Home Front Command, in cooperation with the Defense and Foreign Ministries, arrived in Colombia Friday following the earthquake and is operating with local authorities at several impact sites.
Teams are working at two major sites to locate and rescue trapped individuals. At a damaged university hospital in Cali, Home Front Command engineers are assisting with complex rubble-removal efforts aimed at reaching trapped people and restoring the affected wing.
The delegation is also mapping damaged buildings, helping authorities assess response priorities, and establishing a data management system to support situational assessments and decision-making. Israeli teams will continue providing their expertise and capabilities to assist Colombia’s rescue and recovery efforts.
🪖 IDF EXTENDS COMPULSORY SERVICE TO 32 MONTHS, DETAILS COMPENSATION: Following decisions by the government and Knesset and citing operational security needs, the IDF announced details of the extension of compulsory military service from 30 to 32 months.
The extension applies to male soldiers and women serving in positions with the same service obligation as men who enlisted from July 2024, as well as relevant new enlistees through June 2029. Updated discharge dates are expected to appear in IDF systems by the end of September.
Soldiers who enlisted for 30 months between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2026 will receive additional compensation for the two added months. Those who enlisted through June 2025 will receive twice their basic monthly subsistence allowance during months 31 and 32, while those who enlisted from July 2025 through June 2026 will receive 1.75 times the basic allowance. Exact amounts depend on the soldier’s service characteristics.
The extension also applies to relevant officers and may affect their discharge dates and transition into career service. Soldiers whose original compulsory service period was not 30 months were instructed to consult their unit personnel staff.
⚔️ HAMAS CEASEFIRE VIOLATIONS ALONG THE YELLOW LINE: During IDF operational activity in the southern Gaza Strip near the Yellow Line, a tank operating with the Givati Brigade drove over an explosive device planted by Hamas. No IDF injuries were reported.
In a separate incident, Paratroopers Brigade soldiers identified two terrorists who crossed the Yellow Line “in an attempt to sabotage weapons belonging to IDF troops,” according to the military. The IDF said the terrorists approached the troops “in a manner that posed a threat.” Soldiers opened fire and eliminated both terrorists.
The IDF described both incidents as a “violation of the ceasefire” and said it views them “gravely,” indicating that the military intends to respond.
Later, the IDF said it carried out a strike targeting a terror operative in the southern Gaza Strip. Palestinian media reported that the strike hit a tent in the Khan Younis area, injuring several people. The IDF said further details would be provided later.
⚠️ GULF ALLIES GROW FRUSTRATED WITH U.S. HANDLING OF IRAN WAR: Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain are growing increasingly frustrated with President Trump’s handling of the Iran war and view U.S. policy as erratic and ineffective, according to The Washington Post.
The Gulf states remain dependent on U.S. security support but are increasingly exploring alternatives, including deeper regional defense partnerships, the report said.
