⚠️ KATZ OUTLINES NEW LEBANON ENFORCEMENT FRAMEWORK: Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israel will continue operating in southern Lebanon and that Hezbollah fire on Israeli towns and communities will trigger Israeli strikes in Beirut.
Katz said Israel currently faces no operational limitations in Lebanon and that Israel is setting the rules of engagement. He stated that no location in Lebanon, including Beirut, is inherently immune from attack, and that future action will depend on developments on the ground.
According to Katz, the current understanding is that Israel will not strike Hezbollah strongholds in Beirut's Dahiyeh district as long as Hezbollah refrains from attacking Israel. He said the framework has gained U.S. recognition in recent days.
Katz said Israel's objectives remain weakening Hezbollah's military capabilities, removing Hezbollah operatives from southern Lebanon, and acting against threats generated by the organization anywhere in Lebanon. He emphasized preserving Israel's operational freedom to address emerging threats.
Katz also highlighted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's role in discussions with the United States, saying Netanyahu consistently defends Israel's security interests and helps secure the freedom of action Israel believes is necessary to continue operations.
❗️ BEN GVIR CALLS FOR STRONGER ACTION AGAINST HEZBOLLAH: National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir urged Prime Minister Netanyahu to reject U.S. pressure and expand operations against Hezbollah.
He stated: "This is the time to tell our friend, President Trump — no".
Ben Gvir added: "Mr. Prime Minister, You said that a strong prime minister tells the President of the United States—'yes' when possible, and 'no' when necessary. This is the time to tell our friend, President Trump—'no'. Now is the time to do what is required and necessary to strike Hezbollah, to unleash the hands of our fighters, and to restore security to the north."
🔸 LEBANESE EMBASSY DESCRIBES PROPOSED MUTUAL CESSATION OF ATTACKS: The Lebanese Embassy in Washington said Lebanese authorities received confirmation of Hezbollah's agreement to an American proposal for a mutual cessation of attacks.
According to the embassy, the proposed arrangement would halt Israeli strikes in Beirut's Dahiyeh in exchange for Hezbollah refraining from attacking Israel.
The embassy also stated that President Trump informed the Lebanese ambassador that he had obtained Netanyahu's approval for the proposed arrangement.
🔴 IDF OFFICER KILLED, SEVEN TROOPS WOUNDED IN HEZBOLLAH DRONE ATTACK: The IDF announced that Captain Dr. Ori Yosef Silvester, 30, physician of the Givati Brigade's Shaked Battalion, was killed in a Hezbollah explosive drone attack in southern Lebanon. May his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion. And may HaShem avenge his blood.
