🎯 Hamas brigade commander eliminated in Gaza City: The IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) confirmed that Izz al-Din al-Bik, commander of Hamas’ Northern Gaza Brigade, was eliminated in a precise aerial strike in Gaza City overnight. Palestinian media reported that the strike hit an apartment in the city’s al-Nasr neighborhood.
According to the military, al-Bik took command after his predecessor, Ahmed Ghandour, was eliminated on November 10, 2023. He had previously served as the brigade’s military intelligence chief. Al-Bik had survived an Israeli attempt to eliminate him six months ago.
The IDF said al-Bik directed the brigade’s terrorists in advancing and carrying out attacks against Israeli troops and civilians, worked to rebuild its military capabilities after extensive damage during the war, and posed an immediate threat to troops and civilians. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz also announced his elimination, saying he had been advancing attacks against Israeli forces and recruiting new terrorists.
⚖️ Three detained after Jalud riots block displaced family’s return: More than 100 Israeli rioters prevented IDF soldiers and Border Police from returning the displaced Palestinian Tubasi family to its home in Jalud, Samaria, overnight, according to the military. The family had been forced to leave in July following repeated settler harassment and violence. Security forces had coordinated the return and were operating to protect residents, but could not complete the mission because of the violence.
The IDF said rioters blocked roads, burned tires, hurled rocks at security forces and set fire to Palestinian homes, vehicles and other property. Three Border Police officers were lightly injured, and a security forces vehicle was damaged.
Forces used riot dispersal means and detained two suspects, later identified by police as Israeli settlers aged 15 and 17 from northern and central Judea and Samaria. Both were transferred to police for questioning. Police subsequently arrested a third suspect, an 18-year-old Jerusalem resident. Officers searching for those involved in the rioting and arson inspected a suspicious vehicle containing balaclavas, a club and “findings” apparently linked to him. His vehicle was seized, along with another Israeli-owned car suspected of having been used by the assailants.
Judea and Samaria District Police, forensic investigators and Shin Bet investigators were preparing to enter Jalud under IDF protection to collect evidence and take testimony. The security establishment condemned attacks on personnel carrying out their duties, vandalism and property damage, warning that “such incidents divert attention, undermine stability, and hinder the security forces’ defensive and counterterrorism activities.”
In a statement issued by his office, Netanyahu strongly condemned the riots and attacks on security forces maintaining law and order. “The handful of rioters do not represent the law-abiding settler community in Judea and Samaria. They cause it tremendous harm and obstruct our forces in carrying out their mission.”
He expressed full support for IDF and Border Police personnel working to thwart terrorism and safeguard security, and called on law enforcement authorities to prosecute the rioters “to the fullest extent of the law.”
